Canada is America Jr. so technically he is kinda American.

but so what. Bruce Wayne is just as American and patriotic, if not more so considering he's actually HUMAN.

what about the alternate cannon where Superman landed in Russia instead and became a RUSSIAN icon?
Again, big difference between an icon and an AMERICAN icon.

As far as the Russian thing, I never read that so I cant speak to it.

i dunno. i don't think Superman is any more an icon than Batman... maybe slightly.

they are both the flagship heros of DC Comics and they've both been around for roughly the same amount of time with Supes a wee bit longer.

i mean i understand what you're gettin' at, but when we have Liam Neeson or Daniel Day Lewis potentially playing Abraham Lincoln, i think this guy can get away with playing the fictional Superman.

You do understand the difference between being an icon and an American Icon right?

yeah, but i see Batman as an American icon too, in the sense that he can be anyway.

i'd say Captain America is a bigger American Icon than Superman...just based on what HE'S all about.

i dunno. just don't see why a foreigner can't play a fictional character. like i said, if a foreigner can play an American President (as has been done before actually, and if Speilberg's Lincoln film ever gets going)....than this isn't as big of a deal.

are there really very many superheros from DC and Marvel that AREN'T American? other than Magneto and Storm?

i don't think it matters who their creators are either as someone from here could create an Australian super hero just as well as someone from Russia could create an American super hero, and if that American super hero in a Russian comic book had American values, would he be an American Icon? lol.

anyway. i'm making this difficult on purpose smashie. he's fictional. anyone can play him.
