  • Buying a LCD

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a LCD TV between 25-32 inches for my bedroom.

Do you guys have any suggestions on best price and quality?

Also the TV in question has to be 1080p.

We have a Vizio 32" 1080p lcd. We love it. Great picture, nice black balance.

The only thing I don't like about Vizio TV's are they don't have the greatest sound ever, but it doesnt really matter.

your not going to notice a difference between 720 and 1080 on a tv that size period. dont believe me go on cnet and read up on tvs, or pretty much any other website

i had a nice 32" lcd sony before i accidentally destroyed it with a shoe. did the job very well paid a little less than 500 total, now i think they are around 400.

now im looking to get a 42" panasonic plasma because burn in is a non-issue now, life isnt a problem either, super good blacks, and NO motion blur (i play video games and watch sports so thats huge and honestly i HAVE noticed this on other TVs)

id get a decent brand if i were you, my buddy bought a dynex from best buy and while its decent it has A LOT of annoying characteristics. changing the channel takes a second or two (i know that doesnt seem long but when ur trying to flip fast through channels it gets annoying) the remote is crappy, the blacks suck so to see some things that are meant to be black but visible you have to turn up the brightness which drowns out color. some features choose when to work and when not to work like the last button, channel button, its really a pain

dont base your judgement on in store appearance/picture either as the settings have probably been messed with a TON or set-up for that type of environment

as i said get a decent brand LG, Samsung, Sony, vizios are pretty good as well. dell.com and amazon.com have some serious deals sometimes if you keep an eye out.

We have a 32" Polaroid in our bedroom and a 46" Sony in our living room. We love them both. Blu-Ray is the BOMB on the Sony. Walmart or Best Buy would be my suggestions for price.

Plasma's may have improved, but they still have issues with them. They won't even sell them here because something apparently is wrong with the design at high altitudes.

hmm, never heard of that but thats not an issue for me anyway, they all have issues

plasmas IMO have less, though they run hotter. and unless i find a 120hz 1080p 42" LCD for 500 bucks i think im gonna get the plasma

Yeah you're not allowed to use plasmas at high altitudes or they burn out quick.

              Samsungs = Best.

I have a 24" in my room and I got it on sale so it was a whole lot cheaper than normal.

If you find a Samsung on sale then go for it, or if you are super rich then get one regardless of sales.

Ok guys I ordered one from newegg.

It's a 32'inch LCD HDTV from Samsung, I found the price to not be bad and it got a load of great reviews.

Thanks all for your input and opinions, really appreciated it.

A few reasons why I'm buying a TV is because I got a free 10 ft HDMI cord for my Xbox, while I have a SDTV, and I'm about to movie into a apartment, I fill having a HDTV for my bedroom will be great.
