Iphone or No?

Well now that I nailed a job I can actually AFFORD a better phone!! Not only would it be very neat to have access to DBCMB 100% of the time with 3g access but I have wanted an Ipod Touch for ages!!

The service is pricy at $100 a month for unlimited talk and probablly another $50 for talk and text.

I mean the phone itself is remarkable. Taking photos, texting is easier, insta-Facebook access, bungie.net access wherever you go, Angrybirds etc. What are your thoughts? Should I get one? I am very tempted to go and sign up for one next Friday after my first paycheck which will be for about $400!!

Iphones are really cool but to be honest the 360 dollar per year data plan is expensive. Bettrr off just getting a normal phone and an Ipod Touch.

If I had a choice (which I did) I'd go with an android phone over an Iphone, much better appstore and overall just better phone (plus the droids for the most part of support for flash iphones do not.)

I got my Droid (Samsung Intercept) from Sprint and it was free with 2 year contract and to be honest it's probably the best phone I've ever owned plus I didn't get nailed with an expensive data plan like Verizon..


I would also like to point out that my wife and I EACH got a phone and we have unlimited calling, ulimited data, text ect... and we only pay $130 a month for BOTH phones so it would overall be a cheaper service overall as well. $150 for one line is insane....I'd never even consider paying that no matter how much money I was making, Iphones are MASSIVELY overated and you'd be better off getting a droid (or even a windows mobile phone) over an Iphone.

I have an iPhone 3G...I can renew and get an iPhone 4 or maybe go get an Atrix 4G (Andriod). Both OS's have thier strength's and weaknesses. If your a Google fanboy I can tell you that Andriod has heavy integration with Google. iPhone has a better music player...users can get real geeky by rooting or jail breaking...just a matter of preference.

Not really. The new droid that is coming out in April is supposed to be even better than the HTC EVO.

The Iphone was the best phone on the market for a long time but those days are over. There are just too many phones constantly coming out every few months that are better than the one before it.

Not really. The new droid that is coming out in April is supposed to be even better than the HTC EVO.

I doubt it man, they really don't make that many changes from one Iphone to the next. I was actually looking to buy one of the new Iphones but it was only marginally better than the droid I already have now.

The biggest thing I care about is watching movies via phone or Ipod Touch. I want to watch like the Deathly Hollows and Avatar (Jame's Cameron's Avatar). Can I do that on the droid and other phones from Sprint?

If you want to watch movies on a phone.....get a droid x. Lots of screen real estate. I watch movies,tv,YouTube on mine all the time.

From what I can tell everything you can do from an Iphone you can do from a droid (in fact it supports more file types than iphone does.) Heck the other day I downloaded a free app from the app store to play .cbr files so I can read my huge comic book collection on my phone if I so choose (and I do, I'm currently reading spiderman comics on my breaks at work out of bordum)

Droid playable formats
AAC, H.263, H.264, MP3, MPEG-4, WAV, WMA, eAAC+, OGG, AMR WB, AMR NB, AAC+, MIDI

The only thing it doesn't have is an Itunes type store but you could always just get the video amazon or some other such site that has digital video and copy it to the phone (easy to do you just copy it through windows explorer just like you would any file on your hard drive since it shows up as an external storage drive whenever you have it hooked up via usb plus I'm sure you could get windows media player to sync it up as well)
