When the system is off, try holding down the power button (on the front) until you hear the first beep.. then let go and see what happens.

My :2cents: is it's dead, if you still wanna play PS3 upgrade. You could ask support about it, but last I heard, they stopped support on the old PS3's and only works on PSP and slims.(the last I heard)
Have you ever had the yellow light of death?

PS3 Trouble
Hey guys, I know some of you have PS3s out there, so you might be able to help.
My PS3 is from about 2007, or 2008, I can't remember. However, when I came home for spring break, I plugged it in, and it is not working.
I tried the red white and yellow hookup, and didn't get anything. I plugged in an HDMI cable, and got nothing either. The controller turns on, the system turns on, but I notice it hot air is coming out very quickly.
I've tried it on 3 different TVs, but no dice. Any ideas, or is it finally gone?
Any info/help/advice is much appreciated! Thanks!Tags: None
