Music editing HELP!!

Ok so I am currently trying to take a bunch of songs I have and cut them down to about 20-30 second segments so I can than burn them to a cd and use that for a game i have that allows me to control music during the game (NHL 11 in case you wanted to know).

Anyways...I'M LOST! Ive tried doing it in itunes....failed
I downloaded Audacity...MAJOR FAIL
I know i can do it on phonezoo.com but it takes way to long...so...fail

Anyways can anyone help me out?? What is the easiest and quickest way to edit songs? It can't be that hard can it?

And yea for audacity the songs simply wouldn't play and it was frustrating to no end. I would load the song, the "waves" would pop up, I hit play and nothing happened lol. I'm probably just missing a very simple step....
