My reason for not thinking MW3 will have a good story? Because it's fully made by IW and I don't see how and where could they base a story after 2.

Halo and Gears also are shooters that have good stories, the Darkness has a good story as well, but the multiplayer from what I hear was trash.

And there are other shooters that have good stories, it's just the most popular ones don't.
The reason why popular shooters have crappy storylines are because developers know due to their popularity, they can half ass the storyline and it will still sale, case in point, Black Ops.

Then you have the least popular shooters which bring out fantastic storylines but aren't that popular, Crysis 2 is the best example of that. The thing is when they're least popular, developers put more time and effort into every aspect of the game to make it popular, but since the industry is dominated by FPS, it doesn't really work like that anymore.

I know most shooters people play mostly because multiplayer, but I'm not spending $60 just to play multiplayer, a good storyline wouldn't hurt.

If the game is fun and just needs to be tweaked, I dont mind spending $60 a year on it. I mean if you can't afford it - thats one thing but if not like a new game comes out every 5 months. They have a good formula going and people enjoy it.

Flip side to that is one day I went in and played ALL my CoD's for 360 and they all played the same which is good AND bad depending on how you view the subject. I think they are all fun in their own rights.

Black Ops is okay. But there is way too much spawn camping in that game. It's bad enough in Halo Reach but in COD BO it's like spawn frenzy or something. They really need to change their spawn points in my opinion.
Treyarch doesn't even know how to fix spawns. They have already patched the spawn 3-4 times, and they still didn't get it right.

Before 2 weeks ago, maybe 3 weeks, there was people posting 200+ kill games, because of spawn camping in Search and in Demo.

For me(a rusher) I hate playing on Black Ops big maps, because by the time I run from my spawn do to the other side of the map, I gotta turn around and run back. In just do that back in forth for the whole game.

I guess the developers felt that the $60 gamers were paying for XBL, should also be used to keep their servers up, but Microsoft disagreed.

I'm not entirely sure, but it's the main reason why we aren't seeing any MMOs on the 360. If it's a Halo MMO it'll be on the PC, and if it's not, expect it to be on PC/PS3 at this point. Microsoft really doesn't care about MMOs.

Sure, but Microsoft owns the rights to Halo, so Bungie can't do anything with Halo unless they do it for Microsoft.

I don't play MMO's, there require to much time, I don't even think people will pay the game to much attention.

Now if they made it a RPG, then they would be grabbing some cash.

Yeah not a surprise, and I don't think MW3 comes anywhere near that mark. After the disappointment of Black Ops(gameplay wise, not sales), fewer people will be buying MW3.

MW3 is like Madden this year, very few people will be grabbing this years Madden, but thats mostly from being annoyed by paying $60 bucks for a new roster, so I guess you can say, your paying $60 bucks a weapons upgrade.

Halo would have outsold it if it was a multi-system platform game. But meh
