guild wars 2 is being developed and looks like it could be promising, it will also be free to play once you buy the game.
but to be honest, as far as games that are being developed, there is the old republic, then everything else.
but if you are looking for a game already out, i am assuming you have played world of warcraft, right?
if so, there are actually a few games out there that are free to play now that you could check out.
everquest 2
EverQuest II is the next generation of massively multiplayer gaming, a huge online world where thousands of players come together for adventure and community.
lord of the rings online
dungeons and dragons online

There is a reason why WoW is the most popular MMO of all-time. If you haven't played it, I recommend it. I know a lot of people don't want to get into an older MMO since they feel they have missed out but with Cata, Blizzard have revamped most of the old zones, all the starting areas are redone for the most part, and they've really streamlined and made leveling more efficient.

Now days I play champions online and LOTR Online.
Funny enough slayers is comming back soon (tomorrow actually) after disapearing for several years and I will likely play that for old times sake as well
I've played far too many Mmo's in my lifetime (SWG, Lineage 2, Helbreath, Slayers, LOTRO, Champions Online, and many other smaller name ones) I think my favorite for a longtime was Lineage 2 (great thing about it is you can find emulated servers all over the place for that one that play exactly like the actual servers for free) LOTRO is a really great game for F2P but it's too much like wow for my tastes.Last edited by Freyaka; 03-24-2011, 09:27 PM.sigpic
