There's really no bad answer on this list, but I'm going with Leonardo Dicaprio. The guy has played so many different, difficult roles. Especially within the past five years, his acting in those movies has been unreal.

Not questioning him as a great actor, just as one of the greatest of all time. That's status that should be reserved for the legends of the screen. He's a fantastic actor but he's nowhere near the caliber of the best ever. Obviously a poll like this is going to be subjective and opinions will vary but let's call it what it is, the best actor of the last 25 years or so.

So with that rationale one could argue that Adrian Peterson is a better running back than Jim Brown. A couple of sensational seasons (roles) does not make you the greatest of all time.

Your comparing 2 completely different things, though I do agree calling Ed Norton the greatest of all time is extremely premature even though he is Top 5 working today.

Movies have changed so much, and I agree that more is asked out of actors now then then. Because of things like visual effects and what not, actors must put out their best performances to get recognized.


I voted "Other" for Marlon Brando. But I think Phillip Seymour Hoffman is the best actor alive.....
