We haven't even found a way to download games at a highspeed on consoles. The thought of downloading 100GB games with our current capacity, is ludicrous. Not to mention, some parts of the world don't even have highspeed internet access, making it nearly impossible for them to even play the games. Also, I can name two gaming devices that were digital only, and failed miserably.

1. The Phantom (canceled) was going to come out in the early 2000s, and it was digital only.

2. PSPGO, digital only--total flop, Sony discontinued it about a month ago.

It's apparent that gamers aren't yet ready for the switch.

What makes you think we're anywhere near digital only? Imagine if Sony came out today, and announced that the PS4 would be digital download only, what kind of reception do you think they'd get?

Not to mention the data caps isps are placing on their plans.

It would be crap. Can you imagine trying to download the new COD game on release day. There would be so many people trying to download it that it would take weeks to get it, therefor making lots of people angy. Just say no to digital distribution.
