  • Red Rocks Colorado

I've seen many artists there and just got finished with the Stevie Nicks.. Rock A Little tour DVD. One of my personal favorite memories. I've seen many artists there and I know many of you have seen your favs there too.

I miss this place. Each and every summer, I know Colorado residents look forward to the schedule of who and when.

There is nothing like watching a show at Red Rocks.

The Beatles were the only non sold out concert when they hit American soil at Red Rocks.

U2 was the other only non sold out concert when they introduced themselves on American soil. Yet the Sunday Bloody Sunday video was used from the venue.

Those two bands alone would require big time scab prices these days.

Odd facts about Red Rocks for you.

So enjoy your concerts this summer Colorado. I already know of the biggies that are going to be there no matter what your music choice is.

I graduated there, as did my sister. A truly awesome experience.

I've only seen one concert there though.

      Red Rocks

June 10, 1971: Jethro Tull in concert; it was a riot.

      1971 was the Aqualung tour.

Apparently they are returning next week, forty years after the tear gas show.

When I joined the football staff at my HS in '94, found out that the HC had been at the same show in '71. Small world.

So far my itinerary for Red Rocks is

          A Perfect Circle
          Soundgarden
          My Morning Jacket
Foo Fighters? (announcing something in a few days)

It is the absolute best place to see a show and I am fortunate to have seen many of my favorites there.

Seen many, many shows there and they all were awesome. I don't think I've ever been to a concert there where the artist/band didn't say something about it being the greatest place in the world to play a show. I think that's part of why shows there are so good. The artists themselves are excited and inspired by playing there... making the performance that much better.

In college I had a roommate that worked for Subway, and she usually ended up with the 'Red Rocks shift'. Well, often times I would go with her, simply wear her extra uniform and walk right in - go to the bathroom, change in to my concert shirt, and I was ready to rock!!!

A lot of favorites, but any one of the three Reggae on the Rocks shows I went to are the most memorable (besides maybe Ozzy and one of Dave Matthews Band's performances).

We're looking to get back there some time this summer. I don't really care who we'll see - it's just great to be there.

            Winter is Coming!

Since Red Rocks only holds around 10K and Kenny is selling out 50K+ stadiums, I can only imagine how difficult it is to have a ticket for this in your hands.

I've been back stage at Red Rocks a couple of times to meet bands and it is way bigger than you might imagine. I was a tad shocked.

Met REO Speedwagon and the Scorpions.

I'd have to really dig up the past about all of the artists I've seen there. Also attended an Easter sunrise service which was amazing.

I have only been there once for a Southern Gospel concert. I would have loved to see The Beatles or Neil Diamond there.

My wife saw the Beatles at Red Rocks. I'm thinkin' 1964, maybe? The Exciters opened the show, so she tells me. Their big hit was "I know something about love."
