  • Stupid Game Stop

    I went in today to pick up my copy of FULLY PAID for Forza 4 Collectors Ed. And they DID NOT HAVE IT!!!!!!!!! They said it was a screw up and they did not get they full alotment, and this happened at mulipul stores. Why did they not call me before I burned the gas to get there?

    To me this is inexcusable. It would be like McDonald's running out of Hamburgers.

            Yeah, that's pretty bad on their part. You really don't want a customer to come in to pick up a pre-order and you not have it.

            When you agreed to make that pre-order, they tell you and it's company policy to have a copy waiting for you.

            Honestly, I'd give you a discount on you next purchase if I was them.
            Why? because they broke the deal.

              When the first Gears came out, I pre-ordered it, along with my friend in Denver. Gamestop didn't get their copies until two weeks later. It was absurd, lost two weeks of playing a game we had pre-ordered.

              It gets worse, I pre-ordered Gears 3 and they spelled my name with an, "E." Nathan, spelled Nathen. So now I have to look at a receipt that doesn't feel like it belongs to me.

                  I'd write an email to the manager or district manager.

                  They didn't even give a courtesy call. It's not that hard to do.

                        This reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry goes to pick up a rental car he reserved, and they don't have it.

                        Lady: "Sir, I know what a reservation is."
                        Seinfeld: "I don't think you do. You're good at taking the reservation, you're just not good at KEEPING it..."

                          GameStop has always sucked when it came to customer service.

                          I know one thing, they better have my Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition, when I show up come March 6th.

                            I've never had a problem with the 2 i always visit. But if it had happened to me I would be demanding my money back so i could go to Wal-Mart or something to get the game.

                              This. As long as you have the receipt, there shouldn't be any reason why they can't give you a full refund. Personally, I've never had problems with the GameStop I go to, although, I always go to the same GameStop. I don't mess around with 3 or 4 different facilities. It's more convenient to stick with just one place imo. Unless of course, they don't have what you're looking for in stock.

                              GameStop has been notorious for bad customer service for year's now. Fortunately, I've never ran into any issues with them. If this continues to be a problem for you, I wouldn't pre-order anything from there unless you have to.
