720 is just a placeholder name. Nothing more, nothing less. Until we get an official name, I think it's the best thing to call it.

There's a good chance that "Xbox" won't even be in the title. And if it is, it probably won't have a number at the end of it, for creativity. Sony is doing the same thing, by not calling the Vita, the PSP2.

It's not gonna be called 720. It's just the media name, that Microsoft is just letting everyone use as the code name.

Kinda like how the 360 wasn't called the 360, or like how the Kinect was called Project Natal.

IGN had a article recently,(last month I believe) where more sources came out and said Microsoft will be showing the next Xbox at 2012 E3. So my guess if those sources are right, the box will come out 2013 probably winter holiday season like always.

There was a report that Crytek slipped some info that the 720 will be shown at E3 2012, and that they were developing TimeSplitters 4 for it. Then not too long, actually a few weeks ago, there was another report that it would be shown at E3 2013, and released around early 2014.

My initial prediction was E3 2012, and I'll stick with that. There has simply been too much information surrounding that time frame. Shown at E3 2012, released in the Spring of 2013. That's what most of these rumors have been pointing to, and I think that's how it'll play out. Microsoft is keeping quiet, but they aren't fooling anyone. The 720 isn't too far down the road.

It doesn't do blu-ray though by chance does it, or will I have to keep using the PS3 for that too?
Microsoft actually planned on releasing a Blu Ray add-on for the 360. They ended up scrapping it at the last minute though. Who knows how that would've turned out. The 720 will most likely use BR.

No it doesn't. But Xbox is coming out with a new disk which is comparable to blue ray in size that they will stop having games with 3 disks.

And the new ones can read them. Even the old ones can from what I understand.

Just get a 4-8GB flash drive, and you can transfer your data that way. It's what I did when I wanted to get all the data on my 20GB HDD over to my 60GB. Depending on the size of the flash drive,, you may have to keep swapping back in fourth until you get everything on it.

I'm also fairly certain that Microsoft made it so the new Xbox can't get a RROD. Just like the PS3 Slim won't get the YLOD.

You can buy a transfer cable.

The slims don't get the red ring of death....unless it's caused by you. The original 360 would get the red rings because of hardware failure. These don't have any issues, so if you get a red ring, it because something you did.

You get 250 gigs, why better than 20. You can now and should start installing all games to your hard drive.

Overall it's just a better xbox.

Is there away to transfer the stuff off my old HD to this new one?

How much is different between the old and new console?

Any answers would be great and save me some time googling and what not after class.
You can buy a transfer cable from Gamestop or Best Buy.
