  • Oscar interest?

If there is a thread for this somewhere, I can't find it, sorry.

Is anyone much interested in the Academy Awards? It's tonight.

I used to look forward to this every year, but it's kind of gotten kind of out of touch with what I am interested in. The movies these days seem to either be too artsy, or too stupid with cgi and violence.

    Anyway, my picks.

    Best Picture.. Moneyball

    Best Actor... Brad Pitt

    Best Actress... Viola Davis

    Supp. Actor... Jonah Hill

    Supp. Actress... Jessica Chastain

Movies this past year sucked. So I haven't seen any of the nominees.

Safe to say The Artist will dominate though.

That is a huge slap in the face to all the other nominees.....

I'm sorry but I saw the film. It was a good movie but there really wasn't much acting involved.

Oldman should have won. He is 10000X the actor than the dude who won....

You come off as sounding like acting in silent films doesn't require talent, and that it only counts if there are words. And that's just dumb.

                    I love Gary Oldman though.

I'm not saying it doesn't require talent, I'm saying it doesn't require as much talent.

                          Of course I watched it!

Went with my love to watch it!!!

I wanted Oldman to win, he didn't win but that is ok, he is an amazing actor and my favorite. He will find another role and win with it.

I am also glad that Christopher Plummer won! I was rooting for him or Max Von Sydow!

I am glad that Dragon Tattoo won one. That movie was awesome, as was the Help. Those are the only ones I watched...

The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

Charlie Chaplin would disagree. With slient acting you have to tell a story without using words. That seems a lot more difficult to me.
