Meh I didn't like Captain America in the movie but I don't think it was Evans fault, the role in itself just didn't seem too good. I told my friend during the movie that he was kind of the worst character in the film because he really didn't do much. He didn't do anything that stood out like everyone else.

Saw it today, thought it was awesome.

My only beef with the movie was Chris Evans as Captain America. He was awful, completley unbelievable.
Cap America is my favorite Avenger and they completely ruined him by casting this talentless hack...

Otherwise great movie.

You can't pin the performances on the actors from either of the Fantastic Four debacles. Those movies were just plain terrible. The writing was atrocious. Okay you can blame Alba for being terrible because she sucks. But even the Nip/Tuck guy who played Dr. Doom was horrible and campy and he's a good actor.

I thought Evans did better in Avengers as Cap than he did in the Cap movie itself. I don't necessarily agree with the pick either, but he's made it work for me. Also I was never a Cap fan anyway so... I always felt like he was boring... and Evans makes him boring so it seems to work for me.

Surprisingly I thought Ruffalo did a better job at the Hulk than Norton did.

and Norton is one of my favorite actors.

I just think Ruffalo was better suited for the role in general. He fits the part and description of Bruce Banner much better than Norton does.

I felt the captain america role called for that type of performance; hes been slowly acclimated to todays world, so to be too charasmatic would be unrealistic imo. Cap led by example, and thats what got te heroes to follow him. I felt Evans did a good job of that.

This makes sense to me. He is from the '40s after all. He wouldn't be as hip or quippy as Stark or the others in my opinion. He'd be more of the straight-laced, no messing around type of person like most of our grandpas that served in WWII and I think Evans did a fine job at getting that across. He was constantly getting after Stark for horsing around and being a child basically.

It was better than I expected. Evans did better than I thought he would. I was one of the skeptics and one who went: "Really? But he was already Human Torch and those movies sucked...this movie is going to be trash..." but it wasn't and neither was Evans. In fact there's a lot of cool tie in stuff that has to do with Tony in Captain America.

I look at the character of Captain America and I think of a badass....

Evans' Captain America wasn't even close to bad ass....

I taught there was plenty of sceens where looked like a bad ass: when he blocked thor'hammer, when he lead them in battle at the end, there plenty of moment where he just wrecked people...

He even made me laugh when he was all pround off understanding the monkey joke/comment

True, though I don't watch much college ball. College sports in general are better because they don't make money doing it. They play because they love playing.
