  • World War Z

As some of you may know Max Brooks acclaimed book World War Z is being adapted into a film starring Bread Pitt. Ive been into Zombie movies for a long time I still recall watching the night of the living dead on TNT's Monstervision with Joe Bob Briggs! Ive seen lots of zombie movies and there has never been a movie with a big budget then WWZ. This movie has a 170 million dollar budget and Brad Pitt!! Who IMO is a good actor.

Unfortunately , rumor has it that WWZ is a disaster and its been reported that they are re-shooting half of the movie as we speak and this is one year after filming wrapped up. However, I have faith this movie will be alright it has potential! They hired David Lindelof (writer of Prometheus) rewrite the 3d act of the film so it should be good.

    Is anybody pumped for this?

Well Leonardo Decaprio was trying to buy the rights for the film with the assumption that he would star in it , but Brad Pitts company bought the rights for the film. This is Brad Pitts project hes even producing it.

I bought the audio book when I had my eye surgery PRK.

Really didn't think it was that great. Though I was on a lot of pain meds....

There really hasn't been a worthwhile zombie movie since 28 Days....

Shaun of the Dead was pretty worthwhile.....even tho it was a comedy-horror flick....love Simon Pegg.

Brad Pitt is a better actor than most people give credit for......Benjamin Button was terrific and I loved him in Legends of the Fall and Interview with the Vampire....not to mention Moneyball.

Can't wait to see if this movie finally comes to fruition.

Anything with running zombies shouldn't count as a zombie movie.

I've red the book a few times and absolutely loved it, but it sounds like the film is not living up to what it could have been. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm prepared to be very disappointed.

Well the film was filmed in late 2011 and wrapped up in 2011 it was supposed to be released December 2012 , but Paramount pictures felt that the final act of the film was so bad that it needed to be redone and they hired the writer from Prometheus to do it. Like I said there has never been a high profile zombie movie with this type of budget so it should deliver.

But my fear is that Paramount is just trying to cash in on the success of the walking dead.

Not really into Zombies, especially when the Zombies aren't true Zombies. I heard about WWZ, but I don't know anything about it.

For example Zombie films where living beings get infected by a virus. Those aren't Zombies, those are infected(Resident Evil).

I'm talking about dead rising from the grave. I don't consider any movie that has humans infected by some virus a Zombie movie.

I'm talking a dude just got shot dead, something reanimates his body causing him to become undead.

Even the great George A. Romero didn't consider his own work Zombies, he said they are Ghouls.
