  • XBox 360 overheating troubles

So I've had my xbox for 6 years, and I've never had a ring of death until yesterday morning..

I got a half ring, meaning the xbox is overheating. All of the suggested things like keeping it in an open area and whatnot that Xbox lists had been satisfied already, so I let it rest a day and see what happens.

This morning, I try again, and again I get a half ring after 5 minutes of playing. I feel the xbox myself and it is not warm whatsoever.

Does anyone know anything I can do to fix these problems..?

    Cps will go your way..

Im not sure about any solutions that wont make you open the xbox up. Maybe just buy a new one

Sounds like some part of the internal cooling system is messed up. You should contact Microsoft support and see if they have any suggestions. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I've had to send in my Xbox twice to fix the Red Ring of Death.

It seems there's something wrong internally. You also seem to have an older Xbox. I would buy a jasper chip model or a slim.

Everything created by man breaks down. Six years is a good run for an Xbox, if you ask me. As been said, contact Xbox support and see if there's anything that can be done. Good luck to you.

Much better run than my original one had! Broke down after 2 and a half years, got it fixed for free but ended up replacing it with a slimline.

Phone Microsoft, I know they fix the RROD for free but I'm not sure about a half ring, still it's worth asking!
