Underrated Artists

Never heard of The Pillows, I'll give them a listen. Currently the only J-Rock/Metal bands I know of is The GazettE, Abingdon Boys School, and Maximum The Hormone(first foreign metal band I had music from), ABS being my current favorite.

In Hip Hop, Kool G. Rap. I see him on FEW Top-10 lists. He personified and basically invented Mafioso rap. His rhyming scheme for the time was incredible. For some reason, Rakim and Big Daddy Kane kept their longevity in people's minds but not G. Rap. Yeah he's a little more underground but still.

Also underrated two members of groups: Kurupt and Treach from Naughty By Nature.

Lil Wayne is underrated




No but seriously I'd say rappers XV, Kendrick Lamar, Wale and Hoodie Allen are incredibly underrated. Also, Lupe Fiasco seems underrated among 'Top 40' listeners, even though he's one of the most intelligent and talented hip-hop artists of our generation.

I agree on Lupe. I think that Lasers turned a lot of people off to him though...

I'll still say Alter Bridge is underrated, highly underrated in my opinion. Another would be Reggae Rock band Skindred. They are big in UK, but very few know of them here in the states. Sevendust have been around for a long time, I think they are underrated.

I think foreign music is underrated here in the states. People should give listening to other languages a chance. You might me surprised. Like me, I'm now addicted to Japanese Rock, my cousin likes German metal.

Nonpoint would be another underrated band, Liquid Stranger and Excision. I can name a lot.

Sully Erna, don't know why his solo project doesn't get the attention Godsmack got. I honestly think his solo music sounds a lot better.

He gets tons of hate because of how he acts but the dudes music is awesome. I am not a rap genius who analyzes every line, I judge it on it the song sounds tight. And his is some of the best IMO.

I have to agree with this. College Dropout is the one of the greatest debut albums ever. Late Registration was great as was Graduation. I didn't care for 808's & Heartbreak, but a lot of people really liked it. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was easily the best album of 2010 and probably one of the greatest albums of all time.

Dream Theater as a whole... every member of that group (even the singer) doesn't get the credit they deserve besides their ex drummer Mike Portnoy who is also godlike in terms of skill. I just find it funny how people try to act as if guitarists from 20-30 years ago are still the best in the world when they've never listened to a guy like John Petrucci before. It's actually hilarious. It's not even a matter of opinion actually, if you know anything about guitar I'd be interested in seeing anyone argue that Petrucci is not one of the greatest of all time.

Im going to say my favorite artist right now: B.O.B.
Now he sells well, and has a good amount of views on youtube
but when you compare him to some idiot like lil wayne, its ridiculous in the difference in sales and views.
