  • Guitar VSTs.

    Hi all musicians!

So far I've managed to pick up EZDrummer and Superior Drummer 2.0 for drums, Trilian for bass guitars and Applied Acoustics for acoustic guitars. Do any of you know of a good VST for electric guitars?

I've used FL Slayer a couple times and it's relatively simple but the options it has provide a wide variety of sounds. Not sure if it comes seperately from FL Studio but it might be worth checking out.

Do any of you know of any good string or brass VSTs?

In the era of digital recording (audio) VST's are plugins for recording software

Basically they are effects modules. They are a digital form of what guitar players use as effects pedals, or engineers use rack mounted effects units.

            VST Virtual Studio Technology plugin

VST plugins could be used for

            Overdrive for guitar
            Reverb for whatever
            gate for drums
            it's limitless really

They can also be complete synthesizers too; sometimes with editable LFO's, Envelopes, EQ's, Arpeggiators/Step Sequencers, filters, MIDI controls etc.

Native Instruments Massive is the best one on the market imo, so many options.

These are all Cubase VSTs. Luckily I have Cubase 6. Just need to install it first.

I do think that Applied Acoustics have released a massive bundle with all their plugins and whatnot. It's expensive as sin but it does contain everything I believe, including Electric Strum which is sort of what I've been looking for.

I've heard good things about Vienna, EWQL and Session Strings for the former. A friend of mine has used the free DSK Brass and is very happy with it.

Got my keyboard today along with Applied Acoustics. Every VST in that package but particularly Strum Acoustic and Strum Electric is pretty dang awesome.
