  • Wii U

My girlfriend is really into video games, as am I, so I got her the Wii U for Christmas. I bought her the Skylanders game, which she won't stop playing now, and I also got her the Super Mario Bros U. I was wanting to know if anyone has it and what games you recommend. It's a pretty awesome machine and the graphics are as good if not better than PS3 or 360. So if anyone has any game suggestions let me know. I want a game to play on this thing if she ever stops playing it.

My brother and dad each got one for Xmas.

Have to completely disagree with the claim that the graphics are as good as play station or 360.

I didn't think it looked any better than a regular wii. Huge scam waste of money if you ask me. My brother wouldn't have even bought it if Mario was still made for the regular wii. He got the wiiu just for that game.

I will be getting one, and I think that graphics is certainly not the reason why anyone should buy a Wii U.

Just like the last several Nintendo consoles, gameplay is the focus of the developers, not cutting edge graphics. Having said that, it's the tablet-controller that makes me want to buy the Wii U, because of the potential of it.

Of course, I want to play Mario, Metroid and Zelda games, but even more I want to be able to play them on my lap while my wife is watching TV. Also, the TVii application seems very interesting, and when they support more DVR's, it will essentially replace the controller I use. Also, it will be a good, cheap substitute to buying an expensive iPad to use for the same reason.

I think third party developers will give the Wii U a serious look when they make their AAA titles, and perhaps the Wii U can bring back the hardcore gamers this generation, and compete seriously with Microsoft and Sony. Quite frankly, I think Nintendo has more of a future than Sony in the upcoming console war, because I thought the PS3 was atrocious and there are no signs that Sony's bigwigs have learned anything from their mistakes (as we see in the Vita and PS Move copycats). It seems that everything Sony does is unoriginal and falls short of its competition.

I think Nintendo is taking a step in the right direction with the Wii U, and it has a lot of potential to really compete with Microsoft. Having said that, I still think the new Xbox will far and away be the best console of the next generation, just like its the best console in the current generation (mostly because of Xbox Live).

It's not really bias...Microsoft has just done a good job with the current gen, ps3 has been pathetic (IMO) and Nintendo with the current gen has not figured out the best way to do online which really kills anything but single player.

This. The Uncharted Series alone is worth owning a PS3. I just started the God Of War Saga (Didn't play it on PS2) and so far i'm liking it. Add in the ability to watch Blu Ray movies and its just a sweet console. Also PS+ is worth the 50 dollars for a year to get cloud saving and free games.
