I heard they completely killed franchise mode. Then I read they updated a patch so you could finaly fantasy draft but its in a seperate mode. Then I read you can only fantasy draft with online players and in order to do a similar offline fantasy draft you must do connected careers as one player. Now could I make 2 teams, one for me and my friend that plan to do a fantasy draft against one another but from the same console?

Don't even waste your money. I think connected careers was the dumbest idea in a sport game. I bout it and took it back for a refund the same day. Not having an actually franchise mode and superstar mode, makes the game completely pointless for me.
Maybe other people like connected careers, but I just think it's dumb.sigpic

The fact that they combined the three game modes was actually very smart, because now instead of wasting time programming three seperate modes they can do it to 1 and have it work for all three saving a lot of time to dedicate to improving the game.
Don't makes changes to the game that nobody asked for.
Madden will forever remain behind FIFA, NHL, and NBA 2K in sport games.Last edited by InsaneBlaze23; 01-09-2013, 12:07 PM.sigpic

No. It wasn't smart. The problem with Connected Careers is that it doesn't work. It's convoluted, overly complicated, and lacks depth. It's trying to do way too many things at once for nothing. The modes don't need to be thrown into one.
2K manages to put out a fantastic superstar mode and a decent association mode, separately. Why can't EA do that without having to tangle them into a scrambled mess?
Madden '13 is terrible, gameplay-wise, anyways. I thought the demo was passable but after playing it it's easily the worst sports game of the year. I wouldn't even take it for free TBQH.

I guess I'm in the minority here because I think the gameplay is better than it has ever been. Connected careers coach mode is pretty much the same thing as the classic franchise mode, except, as mentioned, you can't fire the coach or bring in sponsors, etc. Other than that, it's pretty similar.
Like I said, I'm a big fan of the gameplay, and while I agree the past handful of maddens have been complete garbage, I really liked this year's.Administrator

Man was I mad.
As for the game, I enjoy it. I play online more usually, and I also did the Madden Ultimate team which is pretty fun. Not sure who all has done that.
But yea, I do miss the old franchise mode as well.:salute: :goz: :salute:
