It has been mentioned that some of the book discussions we've been having in the What are you reading thread has really cluttered it up a lot.

I thought to alleviate some of that I'd start a book discussion thread for discussing and reviewing books or authors you are currently reading and finding suggestions for books you might enjoy this may help calm the what are you reading thread down a bit as it's now pages and pages and pages of book discussions.

I just picked up the first book in the Mistborn series today and am excited to start reading through it!

I think the first book of the Mistborn series is great. It wraps up nicely leaving just a few loose ends to allow it to continue on as a trilogy, and the magic system I think is amazing as it has pros and cons to each type.

I just started reading the way of the kings and I will say I'm completely lost and have reread a couple of things already and I'm not even to chapter 1 lol. Probably sit down and spend some more time reading it and work my way through a few chapters over the next couple of days and I will be able to determine an early review of it.

The Prologe made no sense, it doesn't get clairified till halfway throught the book but after the book actually starts it gets much better.

Yeah finally made it through part one and I figured out most of the prologe already, but I really like reading Kal's part and it looks like it is about to get good. Now I have the interludes which seem to slow me a little but I really enjoy reading about the world. It is so different that is amazes me lol. So little make sense but for some reason I'm interested.

But yeah that beginning was confusing I probably read it a few times to try to make sense of it and there were so many jumps in time before chapter 1 even started but once I sorted through it made more sense and I was able piece it together. And being a bridge runner would be terrible lol.

Kal is very interesting character for sure. I am starting to enjoy the females story too. Can't think of her name at this moment though

It is Shallan. Yeah her's is interesting but doesn't seem to be moving along as fast right now. But she is an interesting character and the interlude I'm on is the one that is here brother so it is giving a nice background. And I think her story will be interesting with her hidden agenda that could get interesting.

Just got to chapter 3 of the Final Empire and part 4 of Way of Kings both are great. Way of kings! Wow! Super excited for the next book to come out, Brandon Sanderson shows a lot of promise at becoming one of the best fantasy writers of our generation!

Yeah I am about halfway through part 2 and the new characters introduced in part 2 have been great and that battle against the cliffiend. Or what ever it is called was great, and finding out exactly why they are fighting. Everything is slowly falling into place and it is getting hard to set it down I just want to keep reading but I also need to work on a paper that I have due next week

But I will say that reading the mistborn series first taught me some things with Brandon Sanderson and that is everything seems to have a point and I think I have been picking up on some of the clues he has been leaving. But I like trying to piece things together early to try to keep the story and catch the twist lol. Probably going to fail lol

The Chasm fiend, yes that was awesome. The only parts of the story that I wasn't as interested in (and it started changing about that point) was Dalenor and Shallan but both have gotten a lot more interesting. Out of all the characters now the one I'd say I'm least interested in is the truthless guy...and it's probably because they've barely spent any time on his story. I am sure he'll be a focus later on in the series.

I have actually liked the Dalenor story the only one that seems slow so far has been Shallan. The truthless guy intrigues me, but there really hasn't been much about him just like the other two characters from the interlude including that fisher guy lol. But I have been very impressed with this story so far took a little bit to get my feet under me but it has been going along really well. I think Kal holds as my favorite character so far and I greatly dislike having to wait for his next part to come up lol.

I know, when they pull away from his story to go to another character I keep thinking "this is interesting but it needs more kal!" Kal interests me a ton (potential spoilers unless you get to part 4 highlight if you want to see)I am begining to think though it hasn't been confirmed in the story yet that Kal and the Truethless killer have the same powers but I am also begining to wonder if he will have them be the ying to each others yang, one good one evil (although obviously the evil one not by his own choice but rather than his masters choice thanks to the oathstone) This story however is just simply fantastic, I just hope that the confusing start didn't turn some people off from continuing through and kill off some of the popularity of the series going forward.

I'm not going to quote you since to avoid revealing the spoiler. But I don't think it will turn off enough readers to ruin it. I'm on good reads and the book has like a 4.5 star average. And there seems to be enough fans of Sanderson out there that are reading all his books because he is pushing them out fast lol. Granted there were back logged books in there.

But he had his obligations to the WoT that probably delayed this book even more and he has a website and if you just go to the main page he has like 3 bars in the top left and it looks like he is pretty far into the second book, but it will be hard waiting for all the others since it is suppose to be like 10 books long lol.
