Enjoying it all so far, much better than what little I could get through of warbreaker.
Yeah I have been on a reading Hiatus because I am having such a hard time getting anywhere in warbreaker lol. I'm sure it picks up but it has been so slow after the opening chapter with the prison scene. But yeah I thought the Mistborn series were good. The second and third books had some slow spots but overall I thought the entire series was great.

I should probably get back to reading some but I got on a video game kick and started playing Madden for a while now playing Borderlands 2 lol.

It has only taken me a few months, but I'm just about finished with 11/22/63. I don't do well with 800+ page novels, but it was worth the read.

I am very excited, because I just pre-ordered David Sedaris "Let's explore diabetes' with owls" which will be out next week. I know no matter the length, I will be through with that book in a day, then will have to wait another year or two for more essays from him.

Any other big fans of Sedaris on the boards? I've read all of his books, most of them two or three times.

Mistborn Series (including alloy of law) is finally finished. I really liked the Mistborn books a lot, the alloy of law was good....but it just felt like it didn't fit the previous books at all. Felt more like Sherlock Holmes with Allomancy. I liked it but I dunno, it just wasn't the same.

I'm about halfway through Pathfinder and I really really enjoy it. I am a big fan of Orson Scott Card so it's no surprise that I'd enjoy this one too.

Finished Pathfinder and the second book in the series Ruins (it's called the Serpent World Series by Orson Scott Card) pretty dang good story, sadly since the second book just came out in October it'll be a little wait for the final book but still good read to pick up I suspect you might enjoy it #87BM

Okay got back to reading after a long break as I feel the way of the king drained me a lot. And since the next book of way of the king doesn't come out till spring I went back to reading some brandon sanderson books.

The first one I read was the free sample he put out for his next book steelheart which doesn't take place in his cosmere universe. But the sample was the prologue and the first five chapters of the book. But the book is about people with powers but instead of being heroes they are villains. And its about a guy who joins up with a group of nonpowered people who try to find the epics weakness and kill them.

Sorta like his mistborn books it looks like it will be a dark world from what I read and I am looking forward to the end of the month when it comes out and I can read it.

But after I finished that I moved on to warbreaker which I started but got bored of but since this book takes place in the cosmere I decided I should force my way through it and hope it picks up. There is some interesting things in it but I feel like its dragging but I'm only on chapter 10. So hopefully it picks up because the magic system is interesting it just really hasn't been used in the book so far so I will keep pushing but so far this has easily been my least favorite sanderson book so far.

I hadn't picked up a book since I was reading textbooks in college. Just started reading Cannery Row by Jon Steinbeck, and it is awesome. Read the first 50 pages last night, and I was immersed in the story after the first 2. He has a really good writing style, very descriptive and you feel like you know every single character personally.

It's about a small community of workers, homeless and businessmen in an industrial section of the town during the Depression in the early '40's, most of them down-and-out and just trying to make their lives better during a rough time.

There are very few authors I look forward to buying on release day, John Irving and Chuck Palahniuk are two of them.

This coming Tuesday Chuck releases "Doomed", a follow up to last year's AEWSOME "Damned". If you haven't read it, go get it!!! Every one of Chuck's books have been great!

"Ordeal by Hunger" The story of the Donner party by James Stewart. This book is timeless, although written some time back this latest edition features recently released first hand memoirs and gives one a true appreciation for how good we have it now.

Yeah alloy of law was just supposed to be a short story to give fans that taste since he was still awhile out on writing the second grouping of those. Well that short story grew into a book and now I believe will be 3 books long.

But I finally finished Warbreaker. The book started out slow, but I will say the third of the book was great had plenty of twist and turns. Finally learned about the magic system in that last third also, but it was really slow to get into but I am glad I stuck it out because I do really like the last part of the book, and ties everything together. I also had the annotations and I read the last third of the book worth.

I learned a bunch about why he did somethings and it was interesting to read that part. But then I started my next book Steelheart, which as I mentioned earlier is pretty much a book about Super villains and regular people are trying to take them down. But it is interesting because the villians have weaknesses and it is has been a good book. I am already half way through this one but it also is going to be a trilogy so I will have another book to add to my reading list.

And finally the Way of the kings book is currently targeted release date of March 4th. So I may go back and reread the first one next so it is fresh in my mind for that next one. I know they have some free readings out there for the book as I want to say it is almost the first 9 chapters I think there may be one missing in there, but with the pov I doubt it would hinder understanding any of the others.

But I'm back on the horse for reading

And now I finished SteelHeart. Was a fun book to read and the next part comes out in the fall. So I'm thinking I may start rereading the Way of the Kings to get ready for the release of the second book next month. I have avoided reading the chapters he has released so I can read it all in one go through, but I am nervous if I start the first one I may not be done in time for the second lol.

Well almost done with The Way of the Kings have a few chapters left and got past the climax chapters which I knew I shouldn't have started last night but decided to anyway and ended up staying up way to late reading lol. Will probably finish the book this weekend and will probably start another book to read during the small break I have till March 4 when the second book comes out. Now just figuring out a shorter book that I can read in the next couple of weeks :/
