Now that the Official trailer has been released and can be seen on youtube or during the Hobbit sequel, I figured the King of giant monsters deserve his own thread.

Am I the only person amp'd for this movie? I'm a complete Godzilla fanboy. Was one of the first movies I ever saw since my grandfather was a Sci-fi and Horror movie hoarder.

Looks really sick, like it finally got a team that will take the series seriously this time around.

Great cast too. David Strathairn from heroes was the narrator in the trailer. Bryan Cranston is in it. Something I find kind of funny is that Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor Johnson (Kick-Ass) are in it, and they are both in Avengers 2 playing Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver respectively. Liz Olsen is Mary-Kate and Ashley's little sister.

Having Bryan Cranston in it won't hurt my desire to see it! It already looks better than that Matthew Brodderick garbage film...

Yeah I notice that too. Weird how they got casted with each other twice.
I've seen a little of her work and knew she was an Olsen. She's actually a pretty good actress as is Aaron, thus I'm even more interested in Avengers 2. I also enjoyed Savages, didn't see Kick Ass 2.

From what I heard(rumor) both Scarlet Witch and Ouicksilver will be in the X-Men Apocalypse film that was announced last week and a rumored Magneto spin off. Curious how Fox will differ from Marvel and vise versa.

I know there is a lot of Godzilla fans who hated that one. But that's one of my favorite movies, it isn't good but my fanhood of the franchise over powers the crappy acting and below average written.

I have faith in it, it seems like it's returning to what Godzilla original was....which was a giant monster/horror thriller. The Broderick one was kinda of a romance drama with a giant lizard on occasion.

I too am super amped. The trailer was amazing love the scale of godzila, looks like he will be HUGE, also loved his roar at the end, reminds of the animated series wich was awesome.

I hope Godzila fights other monsters in it.

Yeah I will probably end up seeing this as my son is a huge Godzilla fan. Probably watch the old ones on Netflix a million times, plus have bought some of the remakes? (2000-2005 time frame of being made. Still look like they were from the 70s lol).

And his gift to his grandpa was a box set of the old ones lol. So yeah I will probably end up seeing this one.

i thought it was really good. I have the book but havent read it, but from what ive heard it wasnt much like the book but also heard that would be hard to properly do since its a bunch of different peoples journals basically.

i thought it was a cool twist to the zombie genre, not a great movie, just fun

edit: might as well comment on what the actual thread is about. cant watch the trailor but dont know my chances of seeing this movie pre-redbox. I just think Giant monster movies are hard to do.

Didn't read the book of World War Z but saw the movie in theaters. It was better than what I thought it'd be...which isn't saying much because I think all Zombies films the over the last decade have been terrible. It was a change of pace and different. Had it's bright spots but is really just a mediocre film.


I' wouldn't mind a Godzilla box set.

The whole super fast climbing horde thing just annoyed my inner zombie fan....It didn't even begin to do a great book justice.

And I hate Brad Pitt....

i thought it was really good. I have the book but havent read it, but from what ive heard it wasnt much like the book but also heard that would be hard to properly do since its a bunch of different peoples journals basically.

I will watch it when it comes out no doubt I wasn't really blown away by the trailer I was kinda laughing at the frst part of the trailer wondering what the mission is..If its to save someone I can see it but if its to take out Godzilla thats a different story.

Eh, might be someone important they looking for or just a scout team to see what is causing the destruction. The trailer did show a nuke. Taking a page out of Cloverfield maybe?

Yeah I'm a George A Romero fan(again thanks to my grandfather), he said in a interview that he didn't like World War Z because there was so many zombies and the way they moved was just uncharacteristic to a zombie.
He also said he turned down doing episodes of the Walking Dead because he doesn't like it. Said it's a Soap opera with occasional Zombies.
