Eh, might be someone important they looking for or just a scout team to see what is causing the destruction. The trailer did show a nuke. Taking a page out of Cloverfield maybe?

Yeah I'm a George A Romero fan(again thanks to my grandfather), he said in a interview that he didn't like World War Z because there was so many zombies and the way they moved was just uncharacteristic to a zombie.
He also said he turned down doing episodes of the Walking Dead because he doesn't like it. Said it's a Soap opera with occasional Zombies.
I dunno I'll have to agree to disagree with George on The Walking Dead. I don't mind fast zombies occasionally. 28 days and 28 days later were both fantastic (IMO) but something about WWZ just made me cringe...My biggest thing with Cloverfield was that I am a huge JJ Abrams fan (Love Lost and Fringe) and I had high hopes that it would be good...sadly it was not.

Personally I do like monster movies but I'll be honest with you, most of my "love" for Godzilla doesn't come from actually watching Godzilla (I've watched some of them) But more so watching MST3K.

At least Godzilla looks menacing in this one and NOT LIKE a giant iguana.. I hope it will be a GOOD movie and not just look good. I am with Freyaka... I thought WWZ was terrible! This is coming from a guy that loves everything zombies.

My hopes for this movie are pretty high, but not that high. I love the cast and the look of Godzilla, but it's the director's first big movie, and one of the writers' first big screenplay. The story writer is best known for the Expendables movies (I like those movies, but they're not this kind of movie).

I do love the apocalypse that godzilla seems to have caused. seems pretty hardcore.

Why can't Godzilla ever be a nice monster like the cartoons.

I will most likely see this. But I saw nothing in that trailor to indicate it would be any more entertaining (aka less boring) than the Matthew Broderick one.

To stay with the theme of the thread I also hated WWZ.

Hopefully this movie ends up alot better though.

I hated the Brodderick one out of principle, because of that butcher job P-diddy did with remixing Led Zepplin's Kashmir for the movie. Bastard.

A track from the "Come With Me" single by Puff Daddy and Jimmy Page for the GODZILLA 1998 movie. With Tom Morello producing it, playing guitar and bass. If y...

I actually bought the soundtrack to that movie because there were a lot of cool songs on it, but that one made me want to punch poopdooty in the face

Not sure if it's true or not, but I heard they want to take the franchise back to way it use to be. As in having Godzilla facing other monsters. There is a rumor that there might be a monster in the coming movie or a tease for the next film, assuming this one does well.

I have a really hard time getting excited for this. The Matt Broderick movie scarred my life.

So after watching the trailer again i noticed the creature attacking the train wasnt godzilla. So i looked it up.

The guys behind the movie confirmed the creature is a giant insect name MUTO.

As i saif before they are trying to get back to the original style of Godzilla. Where its Godzilla vs man kind vs a Kaiju of some kind.

So I unfortunately did not have time to go see this this week but my buddy went last night anyway.

He said it was a bit of a letdown. He said he isn't mad he saw it but he wished he had waited for DVD.

Honestly I'm not that surprised as the trailer kind of bored me a bit and it didn't look that exciting. I just had high hopes because it's Godzilla.

Who knows I may still enjoy it when I see it. My buddy and I disagree on a lot of movies these days.

Anyways not telling anyone not to go see it. Just that my first review wasn't as exciting as I had hoped.

Just got back from seeing it. I'm not going to spoil much, but I thought it was great. Very suspenseful (in my opinion).

Go see it if you can.

(Disclaimer, I am not a major Godzilla fan, I've seen none of the Toho movies, so maybe that influences my opinion.)
