I don't mind people not liking the movie or thinking it's a wait till DVD movie. But on youtube, everybody passes their opinion as fact and if you disagree with them a huge argument starts.

Some people mistakenly thought Godzilla was Transformers/Pacific Rim type action movie. This film wanted to have 2 sides. A side where humans are a focus, and a side where Godzilla is the focus. Every monster scene needed a build, and each build up leads to the final scene.
Anyone expecting Pacific Rim/Transformers type action never watched any of the trailers.

Nothing in the trailers led me to believe it was going to be an action flick. And that was my very reason for being a skeptic on if it would be boring or not.

But I still want to see it because it's Godzilla so I figure it will be good. And like you said a movie can be good without nonstop action.

An opinion is an opinion, but to say Pacific Rim is better than Godzilla would be to say Revenge Of The Sith is better than all 3 of the original Star Wars trilogy.

My son decided he really wanted to see it. I actually found it quite entertaining. I wouldn't expect great acting, it's Godzilla. Happy I spent the money.

Watched in imax 3d and was hoping it would be better than the brodrick reboot.

Definitely in the mold of the old Godzilla movies and yes a thousands times better than the brodrick movie.

There are a few throw back shots to the old movies as well if you know them

Acting was better than I thought it would be and the fight scenes nicely done with great effects.

Funny note as well I dragged my lady to the show expecting to have wasted the money on her ticket. After the movie though she said she liked it, a first for a monster movie for her.

There was also a nice teaser hidden in the movie hinting at the possible sequel.

Pretty much, this is less of a reboot, and more so a remastered, modern, story driven version of the Toho films.

I'm just curious if it'll get to a point where it's Godzilla vs King Kong.lol *kidding*

I liked it, as a fan of the series and growing up watching the classics, it delivered. I've seen some people say there should have been more action. I think the amount of action was decent and very entertaining.

The 1998 movie will forever leave a bad taste in people mouth, but this one was as good as I expected.
I've heard nothing but good things since what my buddy told me yesterday morning. So I'm just going to chalk it up to him having bad taste. I probably still won't see it until DVD though.

Still a rental for me. Birdman, you may be killed via Samurai sword tonight. It may be best to sleep with a needle and thread in case you don't die you can at the very least sew yourself back together.

Jeez it took that long for you guys to have the movie ruined. As soon as they told me Godzilla was in it they ruined it.
