  • Which TV Show Is Worthy Of More Of Your Time?

There are some shows I should watch more, and others less. The one show that my wife loves, and that I think is really good but do not watch regularly, is Modern Family. It has a quality cast, excellent writing, and in the end, always generates some laughs in our house.

I should watch it more often than I do. Maybe I will.......which means, something else has got to give.

If I had some other choices.....well, for a while I have missed lots of 60 Minutes. That to me is a fabulous show. I love the stories they research. And they are top level reporters. In football season that show always gets messed with, because the pm games always go late, and end up delaying/chopping 60 Minutes. Then again, I can always record, right!

There are more. For example, we have a show called The Doc Zone (which might only be shown in Canada), which is really good at presenting documentaries about modern topics. I find the quality of that show is very high.

Well there are lots of fantastic TV shows out there, but "worthy" of your time...60 minutes is a great example within that context. That really is a great production, but because it lacks the entertainment value that most TV shows have, too many people don't give it the time it deserves.

Only shows (still on) that I watch are:

        Shameless (US)
        Game of Thrones
True Detective (assuming there is 2nd season)
        True Blood
        Ray Donovan
        Walking Dead
        Real Time w/ Bill Maher

        That's about it.
The Browns are gone; I'm not a fan of the Impostors

The real Browns are in Baltimore, see?

                Must sees for me are

                SOA
Bates Motel (This is the only one where I will not go to bed without watching it. All others can be dvr'd)
                American Horror Story
                Soon to be 24

I watch a ton of other shows but they can all be dvr'd and saved for a later time.
It doesn't matter what show it is or how far into the season I am though Bates Motel right now for me gets priority over everything on Monday night at 9.

Most shows I generally like to record the entire season and watch it all at once. Especially 24 because it flows better that way.

Walking Dead generally gets pretty high priority to but not because of how good it is. I have to wait till my wife gets done with her weekend shift which isn't until Tuesday to watch this. But we always watch it first thing Tuesday night. But this is mainly social driven. I like to come on here and read all the posts and it drives me nuts waiting all week to avoid the thread for spoilers. Same with my wife she has to ignore Facebook all night Sunday at work.

Another show we tend to keep up with on a week to week basis is Mad Men.

Outside of that everything can be recorded and saved for time convenience.

I'm waiting to get into House of Cards, True Detective, Game of Thrones, and Justified. Only because I usually become a bit of a binge-watcher and I really don't have the time to get into something new right now. But I do acknowledge that I will end up watching (and probably loving) those four.

Hannibal is so well done. The filming techniques are amazing. What your eyes see are like candy to the tongue (minus the gore) Kind of like in a CSI way. Remember that show had a style of showing microscopic fibers and other depictions of stuff you just don't normally see. It was known for the techniques. Hannibal has it's own style. Very artistic. I don't have the vocab to explain it If you've seen it you'll know what I mean.

                            Arrow.

I've always been a comic book fan, but have never had an opportunity to watch the show because I work nights. Picked up season 1 after reading some of the reviews people had written on this site, and it didn't disappoint.
