Probably because most Star Wars games are bad. The good ones I can count on two hands out of 100 choices. KOTOR series, Battlefront series, Jedi Knight series, Starfighter series, Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire, Republic Commando, Bounty Hunter, Racer Revenge, and Clone Wars.

Not sure if you've played any of those, but everything else is either 'meh' (TFU), horrible (Masters of Teras Kasi), or hasn't aged that well (Dark Forces). Batman and Superman games are basically the same way only the Arkham games have helped revitalize Batman while Superman 64 continues to haunt people.

Yeah I love Superman but Superman 64 was a nightmare. Completely crushed Superman in the video game industry.

I do really really like the Arkham games but my nostalgia for them isn't the same as games from my childhood. I'm not really much for replaying games that I've beat in current gen or last gen games. So I'm not sure I can call games my favorite that I've only played once.

It's funny I complain about short games nowadays due to paying $60 for them. But sometimes the simple short games like Mario are cool because you can play them over and over and over again.

Man, I can't believe not one person listed a Grand Theft Auto game. I've sunk more hours into that series than any other, starting with the PS2 era.

So it's tough to list them 1-10 but here goes.

        1. GTA III
        2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
        3. Madden series
        4. Gran Turismo
        5. Super Mario Bros
        6. Rainbow Six Vegas
        7. GTA San Andreas
        8. NBA Jam
        9. Mortal Kombat
        10. Tiger Woods PGA Tour

Both my lists completely ignored PC games.

I sank a ton of time into Sim City, Warcraft 1 & 2 and Starcraft growing up.

They would probably be one someone's list.

Part of the reason might be that most video gamers grew up with consoles as their main form of entertainment. Only the new generation of video gamers more likely have access to pc gaming.

Not 100% true. I started at the NES level and PC's have been a pretty prominent game source for me since I was a kid. Wolfenstein 3d, Duke Nukem (both the original side scroller and 3D), Doom all were great "older" pc games for that generation. Maybe I am thinking I am just an old gamer when I really am not though?

Yeah I agree with Elway. I wasn't referencing last decade.

If you look at the games I listed I'm referring to PC games from pre 1995. When I was a young teen or not even a teen yet.

I assume that's old school gaming but like Elway said perhaps not?

Very rarely you had parents giving a pc to any elementary - middle schooler a pc as a gaming central device. Beside myself I only knew one other person on my class that usually use the pc over a consle (especially since sony memory cards costs around 20/30 bucks back in the day). I grew up with pc gaming after my snes, playstation 2 was my second console beside the gameboy. But to tell the truth it wasn't the normal specially before broadband was avalible for the average consumer.
