Not really enjoying this season of the Flash. Way too much dabbling in time travel.

I just finished episode 14 where Nora tries to fix the timeline 53 times. And I don’t even understand the resolve to that episode where she is somehow moving forward the entire sequence while everything else is happening in reverse.

The Crisis cross-over events were some of DC's finest. There was the original (Crisis on Infinite Earths) which is next years crossover on TV. Then there was Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis.

CoIE involved the Anti-Monitor (the evil counterpart to the Monitor that we saw in this weeks crossover) He starts destroying earths one by one. Heroes from multiple universes (including several different versions of Superman, the flash, ect... from several different earths and eras) working together to try and save the multi-verse. It ends with one single universe being created and all of the worlds merging incorporating several different versions of characters like superman to create one new superman with a unified backstory.

It was basically DC's way of saying "too many universes is confusing, lets just condense it all down to make it easy"

Infinite Crisis happened much more recently (2005) and it was basically a hard reboot of a lot of characters, revising a lot of backstories, creating a new limited multiverse (53 universes instead of an infinite number)

Final Crisis involved the "alleged" death of batman and Darksied coming to try and destroy the universe. I didn't care for that one nearly as much, but the first two crisis stories were huge in the way they impacted every single comic and changed the entire lore and timeline of all the super heroes.

CoIE could really change the entire DC TV universe and we could see some characters that were dead coming back as well as some dying (it's highly rumored that Oliver Queen may not make it past next year as he may sacrifice himself to prevent Barry from disappearing at the end of the Crisis)

Ok. By the ‘80s I had stopped reading the comics and any associated shows. Only got back into it when Burton’s first Batman movie was released in ‘89.

I haven’t kept up with all the characters/worlds in the DC Universe. My knowledge is based on the ‘60s and ‘70s comics, when I was really into this stuff. So, who was the guy at the end wearing the gold mask and talking to Deegan?

Not all of the DC movies have sucked. Wonder Woman was a good movie, and the early Batman/Dark Knight films were great (Except Batman and Robin. That was an abomination). I haven’t seen Justice League, but I’m looking forward to Aquaman. I hope it’s good.

Even the batman movies were pretty Meh. Batman Begins was good, The Dark Knight was decent (though by that point I hated Christian Bales "I have throat cancer" bat voice) the third one was just awful (with Bane) Man of Steel was meh, Batman Vs Superman...holy cow...we won't talk of that one. Justice league was "better" but still not great.

Really the only movie that DC had since The Dark Knight that was a solid movie was Wonder Woman. I do look forward to Aquaman, but I dunno... If you compare the quality of DC movies to the quality of Marvel movies, there is zero comparison. Marvel just flat out kills them.

On the flip side, DC TV and DC Animation are both fantastically done and miles ahead of what Marvel is putting out. The TV/Animation units for DC are their bread and butter and they need to do a better job of embracing that fact.

The DC animated stuff is really top notch IMO. I wish they put them out a bit more often. I just finished watching Death of Superman the other day and it was great seeing an animated version of that comic storyline. The second half of that movie is set to release in January or February.

DC has traditionally been very restrictive on what they have allowed to be included on TV as well. Smallville was a rather large show, they weren't allowed to have him don the Superman suite until like 10 minutes into the final episode. Clark/Batman has never appeared on TV as an adult (Gotham is obviously an origin story and he will be in the suit by the end of the show later this year)

DC is starting to embrace the "elseworlds" thing. The new Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix is set in an alternate universe and not tied to the movie universe, the TV shows are doing this crossover and then on the DC streaming service they have Titans.

DC is finally starting to understand that they suck at movies and is starting to embrace TV as a medium. I wouldn't be shocked to see Batman in the future (especially since the guy playing Superman in Supergirl is possibly getting his own spin-off show as well)

Fox has exclusive rights to Wayne/Batman on TV right now because of Gotham. I don't think they CAN show him. I'm actually surprised they can mention him right now.

As a huge fan of Smallville though, when "Somebody Save me" started playing as they were going to see Kara, I loved it!
