So I've never watched this show, but I have always been intrigued. I am a fan of both Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates, but I've never gotten around to seeing any of the episodes.

A few questions:

1. The seasons aren't really connected are they? So would it matter which season I started with? Is there a suggested order other than 1, 2, 3?

2. What kind of horror show is it? Does it contain a lot of "jump scares" or is it more creepy things? What types of horror movies, if any, would you compare it to?

This show's definitely on my list, just need to know how high up it should be. Anything else you want to add about the show would be greatly appreciated!

It will twist you for the first few episodes of each season because a lot of the actors return in each story, but with vastly different characters since no two stories are the same.

2. What kind of horror show is it? Does it contain a lot of "jump scares" or is it more creepy things? What types of horror movies, if any, would you compare it to? I'd say there are not a lot of jumpy moments. There are a couple, but it's not the slasher horror, or jump out and scare you horror. They are more of the pshycological horror. I'd say, more of a "wow, that could happen next door" sort of thing.

This show's definitely on my list, just need to know how high up it should be. Anything else you want to add about the show would be greatly appreciated!

I'd say, set your DVR for the new story. Watch an entire story(be it 1 2 3 or the new one) before you watch the next due to the actor change thing I mention in the bolded. I'd say, pleace it pretty high on your list. It is worth it. When I was watching Story 1 with a (at the time) girlfriend on Netflix(I had already seen that Story, I just wanted to share with her) we'd get tot he end of an episode and she's right away reach to start another. We blew through Story 1 and went into Story 2(agian, I had seen it, but wanted to share with her).

You don't need to watch any of the other seasons other than to develop that bond with the actors.

A lot of them play a completely different character but their personality traits tend to be very similar.

Jessica Lange is always that middle aged ambitious woman who takes what she wants.

Evan Peters is always the good kid next door that wonders into trouble because of a crush on a girl.

Taissa Formiga is always the good girl who basically does the same thing as Evan Peters but for a boy.

So Eb is right that the story is completely different with characters unrelated. But I feel there is still always a similarity in the characters that each actor plays. Almost like kindred souls.

As for the scary part I jumped several times in season one. But like Eb said most of it is psychological horror and gore.

This season looks spectacular though.

Jessica Lange is simply... amazing.

I can't wait to get to know these characters and see where this is headed. And the clown? Jeezit!! He's scary as crap!!

is it just me or was there an awkward loud high pitched sound (music) in the background of nearly every scene? At one point I thought maybe something was wrong with the way my DVR recorded it ... it was truly annoying! I sure hope it doesn't continue through the whole season.

With that said though, 1st episode was truly amazing!! Jessica Lange absolutely kills her role, I don't think there is anything that lady can't play. The introduction/back story of Bet & Dot was done perfect and I cannot wait to see how this season plays out ... I can already sense some tension between Kathy Bates & Lange!

... and the clown ... uhhhhhhh wow, I can see now why people are afraid of clowns!! Move over Pennywise, there's a new clown in town!!
