  • Uh Oh - Better Call Saul (Sunday)

Looks like initial reviews are pretty good for the Breaking Bad spinoff. The premiere is a 2 night event as they're calling it. Begins Sunday night and then on Monday night there will be I guess an episode 1b. So they're going to set the stage with a double shot. I'm looking forward to it.

'Breaking Bad' Fans Will Love 'Better Call Saul'

I'm really wanting to watch this but my wife doesn't and I really just don't have time for more shows.

We will see come Sunday night what I do.

Well I watched the first one tonight. It's hard to tell if it will be good or not yet but I have to say it was a LOT of fun seeing a few cameos from BB.

We got to see Mike Earmantrout, and Tuco! Yes BOooooYaaahhh Tuco. LOL - After watching Monday night's episode I'll probably have a better idea of whether or not this series will be my style or not.

If you're a BB fan, it's probably worth watching just to see the cameos if nothing else -funny stuff.

The opening scene in the Cinnabon is the life of Saul in hiding after Breaking Bad. He has an old videotape of his ABQ TV commercials which trigger the flashback memories. I wonder if each episode will start off like that?

I like it so far... definitely will be watching again tonight. There is also the last 8? episodes of Breaking Bad on before Saul's show today. I think it will be interesting to see how this show "sets up" Breaking Bad.

They're reshowing the premiere right now. Then the new episode will show an hour from now

If you think you might be into this, I suggest you keep your eyes peeled early, because we know this production company will be planting little gems for later episodes... for instance and this is an easy one but - who was the dude in the cinnabun joint who looked like he was going to tear 'Jimmy's' face off? Remember that? That will be explained eventually. But these creators are way more subtle than even that. Should be fun

Episode one was simply amazing story telling with brilliant use of silence to emphasize the scenes. Mr. Jimmy is one character.

Love the show. Nice change form all the action shows on right now. I am always a little disappointed when an episode ends, a true sign I like it!

She's really cool gal. Very likeable character. And obviously attractive too

I've seen every episode so far and it's been slow going to be completely honest. But tonight's episode was really very good. There is only one single episode left this season.

Seems like it just started. I don't care what show it is, if there is any interest - there needs to be more episodes. They might as well call this a mini-series. I think it's only 8.

As for tonight's episode - it was really quite good. Spoilers to come ....

I'm very disappointed in Saul's brother Chuck. You'll have to just watch it to know why. And I applaud Jimmy (Saul) for breaking off the dysfunctional dishonest relationship with him.

It was great to see Mike being more like the Mike we knew from Breaking Bad. I also like this new bad-guy. He's been in quite a few of the episodes this season so far. I wonder if he'll be in the finale next week

If you haven't seen any of the episodes yet, it's no where near as exciting as breaking bad and really, Saul isn't quite the same character as the 'lead'. I'm not saying he's doing a bad job, but what make him great in Breaking Bad was his supporting personality and comedy relief to contrast the heavy meth business and cancer and family issues etc.

So the chemistry is all different. Mike does bring a sense of nostalgia and I'm sure there will be many cameos to come. In fact Mike had his first underworld job tonight (aside from the favor for Saul) and I wondered if he was to meet Gus......... but then I got to thinking if anything, that'll be in future seasons.

I'm not going to tell anyone to go binge watch the show or anything, but I do believe there is still a TON of potential and LOTS of breaking bad to come. Having said that, tonight's episode was VERY good and the best of the short season yet.

                          Cheers

This has been a great show so far. Probably because I already have familiarity with Breaking Bad but I think this started off better than Breaking Bad... Breaking Bad I watched the first episode when it started and then saw it here and there - wasn't all that interested -, after a friend talked about how he liked it, probably in its 3rd/4th season I watched again and became hooked on it. For me BB was slow starting, Saul has been good from the beginning ... IMO. Good show, I am looking forward to the 2nd season.
