  • Ticket Master Settlement -

Not sure if anyone is aware of this around here but Ticket Master just settled a CAL that was drawn against them some years ago regarding overcharging fees and shipping costs for it's customers. The settlement was announced a few days ago and as such Ticket master will "pay" it's customers in the form of free Ticket vouchers and discount codes for any tickets you may have purchased between 99 and 2009 (or whatever the years are).

What you need to do ...

login to your Ticket Master account and go to the "My Account" Page, once there you will see the "Vouchers" section on the left. Click on Vouchers and this page will show you how many free sets of tickets you were awarded and how many discount codes you were awarded.

There is also a link on the page that will take you to the list of concerts/events that these vouchers are good for, there is a lot of good concerts listed but you'll need to act fast as the vouchers are only good for GA Shows and they seem to be going fast!

Good luck to everyone! I myself didn't use TM much but I had 4 free tickets and 2 discount codes.

as of right now it looks like the list only contains concerts ... I'm not sure if they will open it up for other events in the future as I believe the vouchers are good until 2020.

I mentioned this to hubby. He said he had already gotten an email about it but hasn't checked what we got. He heard that we should get about $1.50.

        There goes my excitement.

Okay, just talked to him again. He said we got the same thing as Jermz.

I guess I really should talk to him more, right? He'll say that he's enjoying his quiet time.

If you bought anything I think you get tickets and the discount.

I haven't ever bought much from them because I prefer stubhub but I still got two free tickets and the discount voucher for $2.50.

For the sports thing it's a bummer if they don't add those. I would really love two free tickets when the Broncos come to Nashville in December.

Hahahaha nice!!! here is the link that they are giving out to see what "events" you can use these tickets on -

Ticketmaster settled the case in 2013 by agreeing to issue ticket vouchers and discount codes to class members.

a friend of mine who is a HUUUUGE concert go'er got 17 vouchers, each voucher good for 2 tickets AND 17 vouchers each for $2.25 off a future purchase!

Just checked my account, as I used Ticketmaster for tons of concerts back in the day. Just logged in and saw the following:

"There are no active vouchers for your account"

              I don't get it.

I have a whole list of free ticket vouchers but there's not really any good shows close by so I hope the choices improve

2003-2010 or so. Definitely would have been 15-20 transactions I've had on Ticketmaster during that time.

I'm hoping there's just some lag on the vouchers showing up. If not, I guess I could call and see if they can help me figure out why I don't have any.

Yeah I would call and see what the issue is. If you definitely have an account with TM and have purchased tickets in that time period of 2003-2010 then you should have some vouchers. I've heard of a few people that always bought their tickets as a "Guest" and never truly created an account with TM not getting any vouchers but that would make sense as TM wouldn't know who to award the vouchers too.

got this in my email last night -

                        UPDATE JUNE 22 11:30PM EDT

At this time, nearly $5M worth of eligible ticket vouchers have been redeemed and the first wave of eligible events has been closed. Given the overwhelming interest, Ticketmaster is adding another $5M worth of eligible tickets so more class members can redeem ticket vouchers. Please check back tomorrow for more information.

Yeah, I couldn't remember if I had an account, and thought that may have been the problem. I managed to remember my login using an email address I used at the time, so I'm not sure why I would have had an account and never used it when I purchased tickets. It has been a while, and my memory isn't all that great, so I'm not going to stress out too much.

Unfortunately, there is no number to call, but I did fill out one of those "contact the lawyers" form. We'll see how long it is before I hear from anyone.
