Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.

No offense Charlie, but you seem to have this ability to find negative in absolutely anything and I mean, that's well and good and all. You've taken a 3ish minute clip and are assuming from a 3ish minute clip that it's going to be a rehash of Empire and you are making some rather large stretches of the imagination to do so.
Being a pessimist and having low expectations makes the greats so much greater.
I was not fond of TFA. The one positive it had for me was a return to practical effects instead of an overreliance on CGI.
Now, in comparison, I absolutely loved Rogue One. I thought it was great. It was original and it fits in nicely between Revenge and A New Hope.
TFA was directed by JJ Abrams who was also one of the producers as well as having a hand in the story and screenplay along with Lawrence Kasdan and Michael Arndt.
The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson, has different editors and a different line-up of producers --with the exceptions of Kathleen Kennedy (always in the background) and Abrams as one of the executive producers -minimally involved.
So I do expect this next installment to be "different".

This is the same Rian Johnson that wrote the Breaking Bad episode "Fly" where a fly interrupts their Heisenberg and Pinkman's batch. An entire episode where they were hunting for a fly. This was IMHO the worst episode of the series.
I also was underwhelmed by his "Looper" film. The same man behind both "Looper" and the "Fly" episode of Breaking Bad is now in charge of Star Wars.
I know you and I disagree on a lot of tv shows and movies. And I don't really mind because we have different tastes. So we just disagree on what's good instead of just going with what the other said online.
I actually witness my best friend praising Bales Batman and during the course of a text change his mind because the other two were bashing it and his wife also said she didn't like it.
I get told a lot I have bad taste in movies because I like things other people say are bad and don't always like some of the popular stuff. But I like what I like. Not what people tell me I should like.
I totally get where you're coming from on that one. My favorite movies are Dead Man, American Psycho, and Man Bites Dog. Whenever I tell people that, they automatically assume I'm a whack job. What's hilarious to me though, is that those movies are actually satires with deeper meanings that are often statements against what you see on the screen (well, the last two anyway). Flat out though, most people hate those movies.

Ugh, Looper. Now there is a movie I've never been able to watch all the way through. lol. Did he write Looper or just direct it, though?

Mark Hamill aka Star Wars Press Junket MVP is at it again, this time speaking his mind on the plot of upcoming saga movie The Last Jedi in no uncertain terms.
"When I read 8, I told Rian [Johnson, the writer-director], 'I fundamentally disagree with virtually everything you've decided about my character'," Hamill said during an ABC interview.
He did however clarify: "But it might be a good sign! I was really wrong about 7; I said, 'When I turn around [at the end], the audience is going to hoot and holler because it's such an obvious cheat'.
"I didn't foresee John Williams's incredible music and the shots of Daisy [Ridley] or the build-up to it all."
Luke is set to play a key part in The Last Jedi, ominously declaring at the end of the first trailer "It's time for the Jedi to end."
Last week, Hamill outlined what he saw as a "great missed opportunity" with Han Solo's death in The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is in cinemas December 16.
"Attention is now focused on the next Star Wars saga film, The Last Jedi, which director Rian Johnson said had its screenplay worked on by actress and script editor Carrie Fisher.
“I love her so much. I just adore her. I connected with her first and foremost as a writer," he said. "She was an incredible writer, with an incredible mind."
Carrie was a phenomenal screenwriter so this is a strong positive in its favor.

Going with relative unknowns in terms of actors and directors is an old tradition. What had Lucas done before Star Wars? I groaned through THX 1138 and I couldn't finish American Grafitti, but Star Wars sure turned out "alright"!
Another example is Guardians of the Galaxy which is phenomenally-successful but James Gunn really hadn't done much prior that.
I'm willing to give Rian a chance and walk into the theater with an open mind. I judge movies after I've seen them.
