More than that, I loved the Cade Skywalker comics set 100ish years in the future and would have loved to see the stories that led up to that played out a little more.
Now I'm just upset at the state of the videogames we're (not) getting.
Legends canon is still there. It's a separate timeline as far as I'm concerned, but they're not ruined. We're just getting new stories in a different timeline.
I've heard tiny bits about the comics you're referring to... I wonder if there's any good full book sized collections of that story. I don't have time/patience for clutter to get back into comic collecting, but I'd love to read that... off to Google...

That story was interesting but really hard to follow.

For those not familiar... the Maw was a cluster of black holes near Kessel (I don't know about the later revisit Frey is referring to). By saying that the Falcon was able to complete the Kessel run in 14 Parsecs, he's not incorrectly using a unit of distance, it makes sense.... cutting distance off the run by going closer to the black holes would require higher speeds from the ship, as well as ballsy and expert navigation and piloting. It's a good brag.

Yeah, I'm officially worried about the casting/acting/voice.
They can make up for it, and I'm holding out hope that they do a good job.

Now that I've heard him, that's not Han...that's the worst Han solo impersonation I've ever heard.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I won't watch it, I will, if nothing else for Donald Glover as Lando, but I fear they may have fumbled this one worse than Brady in the Superbowl.
The rest of the teaser looks great, and I'm excited for it --thanks for posting it, LT!

You aren't the only one making the connection with the train. Reddit has been all over this hoping that we're going to get a Shadows of the Empire (it was SotE not rogue squad by the way) tie in.

Han Solo the gunslinger... The first Star Wars novels I ever read were the Han Solo trilogy... some of the oldest novels. They focused pretty hard on the gunslinger side of Han Solo in those books, and I'm very happy to see that we may get a decent little bit at least on him as a quick shot.
The Maw/Kessel? This certainly seems like a possibility here. The Star Destroyer emerging from the lightning storm etc. certainly seems like a potential version of the Maw. Now, the wannabe science nerd in me knows that the Maw is one of the harder to hand-wave away things in the old canon... but if that's what they're depicting... it looks so cool! If I remember the history right, it was possibly 'created' by an ancient race with amazing technology beyond what's currently in the SW universe... so I can probably live with that... and trying to depict it 'realistically' would be very difficult... BUT IT LOOKS SO COOL.
Add in to that the train.... this is probably coincidence and shouldn't be read into... but in the old N64 Rogue Squadron game, there was a mission to Kessel that dealt heavily with a train. I'd love to think that's where the train is as well, but that's probably asking too much.
Anyway, I can't help but be excited. I'm a horrible skeptic. I just love enjoying the stuff when it comes.

Chris Pratt would have been awesome, but yeah.
If the kid can't act, this could be bad. Hopefully they manage to pull enough out of him in the reshoots.

That said, it's less important in the long run than the rest of the character portrayal. If they had to choose between someone who could act like Han Solo and someone who could sound like him... gimme the former each and every time.
A lot of that success will come down to writing and directing as well... and that has me a bit nervous... but of course cautiously optimistic.
With the voice... if he's not capable of doing a decent Han impression, it's probably best they don't try to push it and make it even more awkward.
Any thoughts on the rest of the trailer?
Thankfully, he's got a really strong cast surrounding him. I would have loved to have seen them cast someone like Chris Pratt, he would be perfectly suited for Han (he's basically already kind of playing a goofier version of him in GotG.
