Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Ya, I'm not impressed. Like I thought I would be, because the trailer last night was so awesome, but the trailer last night didn't give a lot of Adrienne talking as Han Solo.
Now that I've heard him, that's not Han...that's the worst Han solo impersonation I've ever heard.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I won't watch it, I will, if nothing else for Donald Glover as Lando, but I fear they may have fumbled this one worse than Brady in the Superbowl.
I know this is a weird nitpicky thing, but man, that soundtrack for the trailer annoyed me... like, of all the things to pick out...But I just didn't feel it at all on this one.

The voice is one of the few things I think can be nitpicked here.
That said, it's less important in the long run than the rest of the character portrayal. If they had to choose between someone who could act like Han Solo and someone who could sound like him... gimme the former each and every time.
A lot of that success will come down to writing and directing as well... and that has me a bit nervous... but of course cautiously optimistic.
With the voice... if he's not capable of doing a decent Han impression, it's probably best they don't try to push it and make it even more awkward.

Any thoughts on the rest of the trailer?
Rumor has it he can't act either... He had to have acting coaches brought in throughout production.
Thankfully, he's got a really strong cast surrounding him. I would have loved to have seen them cast someone like Chris Pratt, he would be perfectly suited for Han (he's basically already kind of playing a goofier version of him in GotG.
Han Solo the gunslinger... The first Star Wars novels I ever read were the Han Solo trilogy... some of the oldest novels. They were a bit different than a lot of what came later, but I enjoyed them a lot... They focused pretty hard on the gunslinger side of Han Solo in those books, and I'm very happy to see that we may get a decent little bit at least on him as a quick shot.
The Maw/Kessel? This certainly seems like a possibility here. The Star Destroyer emerging from the lightning storm etc. certainly seems like a potential version of the Maw. Now, the wannabe science nerd in me knows that the Maw is one of the harder to hand-wave away things in the old canon... but if that's what they're depicting... it looks so cool! If I remember the history right, it was possibly 'created' by an ancient race with amazing technology beyond what's currently in the SW universe... so I can probably live with that... and trying to depict it 'realistically' would be very difficult... BUT IT LOOKS SO COOL.
Add in to that the train.... this is probably coincidence and shouldn't be read into... but in the old N64 Rogue Squadron game, there was a mission to Kessel that dealt heavily with a train. I'd love to think that's where the train is as well, but that's probably asking too much.
Anyway, I can't help but be excited. I'm a horrible skeptic. I just love enjoying the stuff when it comes.

They revisited the Maw later in the books towards the last series of books and explained it all a bit better. It looks like in this version, the maw may be some sort of a space monster rather than a series of black holes as it was in the books.
You aren't the only one making the connection with the train. Reddit has been all over this hoping that we're going to get a Shadows of the Empire (it was SotE not rogue squad by the way) tie in.

I didn't make the connection to Shadows... but it was also in Rogue Squadron.
I *know* that the explanation about the Maw and how cutting closer to the black holes is hand-wavey regarding the infamous 'parsecs' line (I can't think of the right term for fixing a story retroactively)... but I've always thought it worked well, and I'd be happy to see them illustrate that in this movie.
For those not familiar... the Maw was a cluster of black holes near Kessel (I don't know about the later revisit Frey is referring to). By saying that the Falcon was able to complete the Kessel run in 14 Parsecs, he's not incorrectly using a unit of distance, it makes sense.... cutting distance off the run by going closer to the black holes would require higher speeds from the ship, as well as ballsy and expert navigation and piloting. It's a good brag.
