  • Country Music

I am not a fan of country music in general. I like "The dance" by Garth Brooks and one or two of his other hits.
Most of it drives me insane. It just seems like it takes minimal talent vocally and a little sex appeal to become the next superstar.
My mother used to listen to calasic rock but since she married that red-neck when I was 16 she has been converted to Country-fricken-music.
    Perhaps it is an STD....
I've walked these streets, a loaded six-string on my back, I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back, I've been everywhere still I'm standin' tall, I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all!!:salute!:

    They still make country music?

I thought that died out in the 90's.

I like 'She thinks my tractor's sexy'

Shania Twain and Leann Rimes are hot.

This is the extent of my country music fandom.

eh. Like any other genre, I have discovered that there are artists, and 'performers'.

And I think the fact that not every female singer is a 22 year old hottie is a good thing. It shows that they still care about how well you sing. Using sex appeal to market music means you attract dumb fans, and it makes people wonder if its really about the music.

I'm not a massive fan of Country, but i can listen to some of it, and i do like some of the country inspired music such as ZZ Top & Dire Straits that's around. Growing up, one of my favourite films was a country musical, 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas' with Dolly Parton & Burt Reynolds. And since I liked Burt Reynolds, you used to get a fair bit of country in his movies, along with the Waylon Jennings (I think) stuff with the Dukes of Hazard. So I guess you could say I have a tolerance for it.

One of my all time favourite songs, for some unknown reason, is 'The Devil Went Down To Georgia' by The Charlie Daniels Band, and there's a band that's getting a lot of exposure over here is a band called Hayseed Dixie who are covering all sorts of Rock classics in a Bluegrass style. Never ceases to put a smile on my face.

I worked for the DOT one summer...damn, thats been 10 years ago. I had to listen to country all day every day while working. The only country singer I liked was Dwight Yoakum. There was, and still is, something different about his music. It just doesn't seem like country.

Brittany Spears came to mind here. Gawd that lip sincing tramp drives me nuts.

But I am a big fan of country music. Listen to it all the time. There are your wife left me and my dog got ran over songs but there are a lot of upbeat positive songs out there. I have over 300 CD's in my collection which half are country music. The other half is mainly rock with some pop in there. No Doubt with Gwen is one of my ultimate favs of "today's" music.

But back to country, Shania Twain without question is a big favorite. Her DVD recorded in Chicago for her latest "Up" CD tour is a great show to watch. We have worn that thing out! LOL. Faith, Martina, Trisha (Garth Brooks new love) Wynonna to name a few more.

I saw Garth on his final tour as well as many others. Kenny Chesney is one of my favs along with Tim McGraw but there is so many artists that there are very few I don't like. I could really go on and on but will spare ya.

The top 40 crap we have to listen to everyday here at work drives me absolutely crazy. Every friggin' hour it's the same songs over and over and over and over and over......

I like some country music. I'm a singer so I enjoy the slower songs, not the ***** tonk two steppin ones. I don't own any country cd's but I do still enjoy a little bit of it.

Country music died officially when Faith Hill took Tim McGraw's nuts and locked them up in her jewelry box.

The "Indian Outlaw" has been reduced to this current whiney, crybaby bullsh**. Also, Garth was never the same after he went crazy and started doing that "Chris Gaines" crap.

I used to be a pretty big fan, but I don't listen to new country at all anymore. It sucks just that hard. It sells out worse than pop now. It's horrible. The only people who like that crap now are the wanna be cowboy retards who think every day is a costume party.

                    Die.
