With or Without you isn't really a love song, though. It's about a dysfunctional realtionship....co-dependency, I think. It definitely seems to be about an argument or fight. There is tension.

True... But that just depends on how you understand the song... You can understand a song or a poem in different ways I guess... Don't you think so ?
That's a reason why I like so much Depeche Mode... their texts can have so many differents meanings... that just depends on you own sensibility...
