While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.

I hear ya.......whats worse is when your pumping gas and some ass decides to keep his crap errrrr I mean rap music playing at 100 decibels.....
You should do what I did once...
I was at Wal-Mart and I just pulled in, got out of my car and realized that the mental-midget that parked 2 cars down left his car running with the stereo blazing. Coincidentally, he was blaring rap music. I simply reached into the open driver side window and turned it off.
It's hard for me to imagine any rap without instruments and synths these days, it's kind of hard to rap without a beat. Everything is becoming more modern these days.
Most metal is about death? Well, they have a genre called Death Metal for that. There is a wide variety of ways to intepret "death" in metal. I don't even classify the bands I like by genre. If I like it, I like it. Most of the music I listen to is so eclectic anyway it's hard to place a finger on what it is.
I've given rap a real listen, I actually used to enjoy listening to it when I was younger. Then I realized how stupid I was. I don't like a lot of the baggage that comes along with rap music. What they talk about, how they exploid women in their videos, etc. I like music that actually has something interesting to talk about. I think it's a vast over-statement when saying most metal is about death -- and I think it's a vast under-statment saying that rap is anything but what I've said. Sure, there are few that actually have decent content in their works -- and I can tolerate that stuff. But I get sick of the, "bling-bling, I got ho's and you dont'z" crap that's put on the airwaves everday.
About my peers, what they listen to has no effect on me. A lot of them are into the rap scene because they think it's cool to conform and mold into society.
Have you ever seen those morons on MTV? I'm not trying to say that rap is just for the african american public, but it's hilarious to try and see a "white boy" get down to something that generally pertains to a culture completely different than theirs.
I'd take a little Nazareth over the 504 Boyz any day.

I can most definately agree that I like music concerning what in my opinion is a more intelligent subject matter. TOOL for instance write some of the most intellectual lyrics of music that I listen to.

not a big rap fan myself. Its got energy. But most of the songs you hear are "look at my hos, i got 34 inch diamond incrusted rims, wtf is this shiny crap in my mouth" music. some of it is tolerable. but the one thing that completely killed rap for me was the day i heard a rap song based on ozzy's Crazy Train. I mean.... wtf?
I have a problem with eminem. and no im not saying "you cant rap cuz youre white". The guy's lyrics are good. His message is good, but his voice just doesnt have the power that a lot of rappers' do. its kinda weak

Anybody who cant appreciate an artist like emeniem(sp) who puts his life, his beliefs into his songs should go in a corner, sit down and think about what they are saying. Emeniem is an amazing artist and i love all his songs. Especially ''Mosh" who has the kods to go as far as challenging the government? Who has the kods to write a song about his daughter? Who has the kods to discriminate Michael Jackson in a song? Who has the kods to write a song saying "We're ending this feud with Ja Rule"?
Most rap is based on the ability to "free-style" without any instruments or sythesizers. They usually pick up a sample of someone elses music for the sake of the "hook".
I wouldn't say too much about the subject matter either, most metal is about death.
Can you honestly say to yourself that you have given it a real listen.... or are you following a popular opinion amongst your peers?

Why can't I appreciate Rap? Well, it's not that I don't appreciate it... it's just that anyone can mutter a bunch of jibberish and slang terms over a microphone and drum machine and I mean anybody. Heck, I might as well throw some pots and pans in there for good measure, maybe even a little bass guitar. I could make a rap album in less than a day if I wanted to. But wasting my time and effort when I can actually press for something that actually takes talent... just seems asinine.
If you can't listen to Tupac Shakur and admit that the man was an immense talent, you may have a preconception. The lyrics are well thought out and somewhat sensible. Although I personally cannot relate to many of the situations in rap, I try to understand all rap artists and AFTER listening, decide whether or not they are worth my while...
I noticed a fair portion of you guys on the music survey threads have a disdain for Rap music. Why do you dislike it so much? Is it that you can't relate to it? I'll bet that you can
I am very curious to see what responses come from this. I expect to see some really good ones too, as many of you are of above average intelligence, IMO.
Aren't "rap" and "music" a contradiction in terms? Nonetheless, I appreciate rap. I really do. I REALLY appreciate it when it is taken somewhere else--where I can't hear it.
I love rap, well - I love good rap. Like Izaak, it's all about whats in the content. I don't care how big the wheels on your car are, I don't care how much crystale you drink - I don't care about the X amount of sexual acts you have with X amount of (insert derogitory word for a woman here).
I just hate all the dime-a-dozen no-talent junk rappers that are all over right now. I'm a Dr. Dre kinda fellow, I like almost anything that came out of Death Row, and most of the artists on shady/aftermath today.
I wouldn't attribute that directly to Rap music...more of a testament to the mediocre size of ones "special area"
