I pretty much only listen to metal/hard rock so the band I really like that surprises people is....10,000 Maniacs
And like them or not Poison puts on a fantastic live show.

Great White had to endure that terrible trajedy in Rhode Island as we all know.
Then you mention "We Built This City" which is actually considered the worst rock song ever made.I like that song too and I can certainly think of other songs that are more worthy of that award. I have never understand why that song was chosen as worse.
Do I feel a new thread coming on?
Starship rocked! I also loved their song from the movie Manaquin ( spelling )

Originally posted by GlacierEh, probably the Cure - for some reason, my friends think they suck. I think my friends suck now.
I think you need new friends.
The Cure certainly are on thr downside of their career, but saying they suck is odd.
Who do they think is cool?
Nickelback?
Limp Bizkit?
ICP?

I'll start, when I was growing up, my brother in law and I were closet New Kids on the Block fans and had all of their music.
If I didn't liek it, I wouldn't have bought it.
I still crank my Poison and Great White cassettes on occasion.
No skeletons in my musical closet.
I'll admit, I like a bunch of new stuff too, but I am not so trendy to just say "ugh (band) sucks" when I secretly own all of their stuff.
I do have an old double record sampler that has Starship's "We Built This City" on it, which I think is a terrible song, but as a sampler from that year, it does its job - collect all the hits into an affordable collection. But I can always skip that song.

I don't hide any of my music either, but I do get a lot of flack for listening to none other than "hits from the 80's"

I really like Dolly Parton.
I don't hide music either. I have quite the collection of Albums, Tapes and CD's that are a big hit at partys. The disco era really is a big hit and yes....
