Wow. That's a lot of compliments.
Sprite? Good. You mind if I have some of your tasty beverage to wash this down with?

Yeah, it didn't get much praise at first and the ratings weren't the greatest but if you ask trekkies now a days, they'll tell you that DS9 was the best show of all the Treks. Although, the jury is still out on Enterprise, I haven't been very impressed thus far.

From what I've seen it's not that good.

To be honest, I stopped watching about halfway through season 2 so I don't know about now, but from what I've been told, it hasn't got better.

i'm not what you would call a treky, but i used to watch TNG as a kid and enjoy the reruns on spike tv from time to time. but when the other star treks came out i never liked any of them. but then again, i didn't watch them after a couple of episodes from the first season. what was the name of that other one?

You should give DS9 another shot, it's a really good. Spike Tv is reportedly gonna show DS9 this fall so that'll help get new people interested in the show. Hopefully they show them in order somewhat because DS9 is more dependant on that than The Next Generation or The Original series. Especially the 10 episode arcs towards the end there, id hate to be a new fan and not see what happens during some of the most tense moments in the show.

I liked DS9, though I wasn't too fond of the Dax change in the late-going. I also wasn't terribly thrilled with the Founders.

Still, there were good characters. I always said the next series after DS9 should be a buddy show, like Starsky & Hutch, only it would be Worf and Garrick.

Voyager was actually better than I would have thought. The characters were really well done and drove the show. Some of the species they encountered didn't sit well with me, but it didn't detract overall.

I actually think Enterprise is pretty good, and the characters have depth. There are problems inherent in the show that isn't really the show's fault. It is the 5th series, most of those series running 7 years. There's only so much you can do and so much you can repackage. I do like the direction/purpose of this season. I hope it gets picked up.
Victory and defeat are matters of the temporary force of circumstance.

                        Thanks, Snk16!!

the very first episode (i think b/c characters were all meeting each other for the first time) of TNG was on spike TV yesterday. i had never seen it before . . . data talked a lot more "robotic" and couselor troy was wearing a skirt with boots (my fiance says she wore that for awhile, but i never saw it before). also, picard was more of a hard-a$$ than i remember from later episodes. wasn't particularly impressed with the giant jellyfish aliens though.

Yeah, the actors and writers didn't know quite how to fit into their roles. I agree the jelly fish aliens were cheesy.
