  • Any Grateful Dead Fans Here?

Hi, Denver Bronco fans! Are there a music fans who love the music band The Grateful Dead and their fans aka the "Dead Heads?" Many of my friends, neighbors, and co-workers own lots of their albums and tie-die T-shirts. I still wish Jerry Garcia was still alive, bless his soul and spirit, because he is definitely a legend and I'm sure the Grateful Dead would still tour in concerts and festivals throughout the country every summer.

My favorite single Dead album is "Workingman's Dead," originally released on Sunflower Records in 1971, then reissued on CD in 1989. My favorite all-time songs are "Truckin'" and the one-hit wonder and their first ever music video "A Touch Of Grey."

I'm interested to know when the Dead performed their last concert with Jerry Garcia in the Denver area. They may have not been entirely mainsteam musically, but they definitely attract and still have a huge cult of fans like me today. Thanks!

Yeah, I was a dead Head. Several of my friends even followed them all summer a few times.

One of the great things about the Dead is that they always let people tape their concerts, and makke bootlegs. They were in it for the music more than the money.

I saw the the Folsom Field, Red Rocks, and at the Downs in Sante Fe, NM. Great shows! Not sure when their last concert here was. I bet my old friends would know though. Unfortunately, we lost contact years ago........

I went to a couple dead shows in the mid 90's, never made it past the parking lot though......... I did enjoy beating on some bongos in the drum circle though.

I liek them. I can't say I am a HUGE fan, but I got some of their old records on vinyl.

Workingman's Dead is probably my favorite album, mostly because I absolutely LOVE "Uncle John's Band". Fantastic tune.

Although "Dark Star", "Casey Jones", and "Friend of The Devil" are also great.

I also have a live double LP "Steal Your Face" Excellent stuff.

Everybody's gotta elevate from the norm...

The greatest list of music I don't own on CD
You should check these guys out

The last time they played Las Vegas was quite the event. They did two shows at the Sam Boyd stadium that seated 40,000 each show (sold out) and I went on May 31, 1992. It was 110 degrees that day and some of the dead heads really needed a shower.

I wasn't really that big of a fan but wanted to experience a dead show and I was glad I did. We had a great time. The parking lot before hand was really something to see. The Steve Miller Band was the warm up and that really sold me on going cuz I really like him. The dead part of the show was 3 hours long with an intermission. I didn't recognize any of the song until the end when they played the radio hits. Most everyone was exhausted by the evening. The show had started at 2:00.

I had thought Jerry died about a year after this show but not sure.

Been thinking about this since I last responded.

I think my favorite Dead song was Althea. I just loved that song!!!

By the way, Jerry still lives on. Theres a pretty good wine that carries his name, and I have been a proud owner of a Jerry Garcia tie for a long time now. Whenever I wear it, I always get compliments on it.

Hate to sound generic, but gotta love Uncle John's Band.
