i hadn't heard of this one but i'll have to look into it. one thing though, what you said you like about this one (artwork, attention to detail and deep story line) really is common in anime. unfortunately, most of the good stuff doesn't usually make it to tv in the US and a lot of it gets crappified in the dubbing process - watch anime with subtitles when you can. if you liked this one alot i'd encourage you to look into shows that never made it here.

since you mentioned enjoying a werewolf storyline, you might like "hellsing" - http://www.animeboredom.co.uk/anime-reviews/hellsing/ - involving vampires.

You're completely right about Wolf's Rain. I loved this show when they showed it on Cartoon Network and I had to buy the entire series when it came out. What makes it so good is it's uniqueness. It doesn't involve giant robots, samurai, or ninjas (not that there's anything wrong with that). There's never been a show like it (IMO) and the characters make the story that much more compelling.

I now have the opening song ("Stray") stuck in my head. Thanks a lot.

    Wolf's Rain

Let me start off by saying that generally I'm not into anime, not that it's bad, but most of the time it isn't my thing. This brings me to my next point...My friend got me into watching this show called Wolf's Rain. It intrigued me because I like the werewolf/wolf mythology. I borrowed the dvd set, and after the first episode...I was hooked. This isn't just an anime, that doesn't cover it. The art work is beautiful, that's the only way I can describe it. It really is art..they pay attention to details, they make it come alive.

Not only that, the characters and character developement are what drives the story. It's not one of those 'sit and watch with your friends action anime'. This is for people who enjoy a great back story, and characters that can really capture your heart. A bit of a warning, the ending really is a greek tragedy. If you don't shed a tear (or several), you have no feelings at all.

I want to suggest this to anyone who enjoys dramas, even if anime isn't your favorite...give this a shot. It's well worth it. PM me if you want more details
