Anthems and Protests ---
While we certainly understand the frustration by fans on all sides of the discussion, we have decided to keep the Broncos Country message boards separate from politics. Recent events have brought the NFL to the forefront of political debates, but due to the highly emotional and passionate discussion it tends to involve, we think it’s best to continue to keep politics and this forum separate. Yes, the forum is meant for discussion, but we’d like to keep that discussion to football as much as possible.
With everything going on in our country, it would be nice to keep our complaints and cheers purely related to football here. If you feel passionately, there are plenty of other outlets available to you to express your opinions. We know this isn’t the most popular decision, but we ask that you respect it.
Thank you for understanding.

Deep Discount DVD is having their 20% off sale again.
Now the debate is whether or not to grab Planet Earth now on DVD, or wait til I have HD-DVD or Bluray, but who knows when that will actually be :brick:
What's the deal with the blu ray discs? Do you have to have a "blu ray player" to play them?

Yes, both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are high definition formats for HDTVs and both need new players. The players are backwards compatible to play regular DVDs but cannot play the other format(Blu-Ray players can't play HD-DVD discs and vice versa). Currently each side has exclusives right now, so there are movies/shows that you can get on one but not the other. There is a "format war" going on and many are waiting to see who wins.

Bummer, I didn't notice this thread before. Sunday I bought the HD-DVD version of Planet Earth from Amazon for $66.95 It shoudl arrive tomorrow with the Prime two day shipping.
Just as an aside, I don't know if Amazon's prices on the old ($4.95 type) movies is as good, but looking at some of the new releases like Ghost Rider and such, Amazon's prices are the same or better on all the one's I checked. Obviously, the 20% discount would change that, but as to regular prices several I looked at on this site were higher than Amazon.
