What's the deal with the blu ray discs? Do you have to have a "blu ray player" to play them?

Yes, both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are high definition formats for HDTVs and both need new players. The players are backwards compatible to play regular DVDs but cannot play the other format(Blu-Ray players can't play HD-DVD discs and vice versa). Currently each side has exclusives right now, so there are movies/shows that you can get on one but not the other. There is a "format war" going on and many are waiting to see who wins.

Just as an aside, I don't know if Amazon's prices on the old ($4.95 type) movies is as good, but looking at some of the new releases like Ghost Rider and such, Amazon's prices are the same or better on all the one's I checked. Obviously, the 20% discount would change that, but as to regular prices several I looked at on this site were higher than Amazon.

Ghost Rider (Non HD/Non Directors cut) Amazon $15.99 DeepDiscount $18.87 (as an example).

True, they run somewhere around $1k right now and if the format war drags on I expect to see more of them.

Yeah, generally Amazon is cheaper than anyone but that isn't always the case.

I use http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/ to search multiple places at once.

Alot of times their prices aren't updated though so be aware of that.

                    Really?

I got mine in 4 days.

                    I'd send them an email.
