I personaly liked the original.

Van Halen....Their stuff was original and shot the group to a point where they would be able to pull off the radio friendly Van Hagar.

Not even close. Van Haggar. David Lee Roth can't sing to save his life, while Sammy has an excellent voice. Besides, Sammy adds another guitar.

I like both, really.


But at th time DLR left, VH had become constrained. Eddie wanted to add keyboards and try some different things, and DLR couldn't have pulled it off anyway.


So, I prefer the Hagar version. More variety in music, and as noted, he is a better singer and can add a guitar.

I mean, can you imagine DLR even trying to sing "Love Comes Walking In", "Dreams", or "Right Now"?

DLR has proven that he is kinda of a sad character in his old age, anyway.
