Music is art. When you put senseless words with broken beats, it destroys that art. You should at least have some substance to what you are doing. I listen to every type of music and I like what I like. Also, in listening - and studying - how much music I do, I know plenty about musicians. Most of those bands a very talent-less. Sure, they play lightning fast arpeggios and can 'shred', but it doesn't make sense when you look at it as music.

I'm not looking to start a fight. I'm just saying what I have to say.

I already said this before but i'll say it again MUSIC DOESN'T HAVE TO HAVE MEANING. music should just be music. music comes in all different forms just like art comes in different forms. pichosso's work looks nothing like van gogh's work but it's still art. cannibal corpse sounds nothing like bethoven but it's still music. and i wouldn't call this "talentless"

Music is art and art is subjective. Some people like Dave Matthews. Some dont. Does that make it bad. Its up to us to decide. I enjoy all kinds of music, and I certainly don't "throw down" on other peoples taste in music. That's just close minded.

you dismissed metal and said "it was destroying art" and just dissed an entire genre of music. And i gurantee you most of those musicians can play in melody and in rhythm. they just choose not to because it's not there thing. just like led zepplin (no disrespect to zep) choose not to play death metal.
