I don't remeber the Emperor being in Star Wars, and I'm pretty certain that his voice in Empire was credited to someone else, cause it was only a very brief 2 or 3 line appearance.

No, the guy in Empire Strikes Back was a different actor and the Emperor did not appear in A New Hope.

I had seen a while back that you can also preorder from wal*mart.com...Usually they lower the price of dvd's the first week it is out and they are really good about re-crediting the amount back to your card...

I did that with the special 4-disk version of the LOTR 2, and the price went down a few dollars so they recreditted me.

Buy.com has it for $41.98 and free shipping. I usually have good luck with them. Here's a link:

What I meant was that the same guy that plays the Emperor now, was the same guy that played him in the originals. The thing is, pretty much all the bad guys' voices were dubbed over. Darth Vader was played by 2 people. As was Darth Maul and so is the Emperor in the originals. We don't actually see Ian until Return of the Jedi. His voice in Empire Strikes Back is done by Clive Revill. So yeah. Ian plays him in the originals as well as the recent ones.

But when you say "originals" you inlclude all of the orginal three when in fact it's just Return of the Jedi.

Meh...I still have not seen all three of the original trilogy in their entirity...I wasn't born yet the first time around & the second time around I was old enough that I had decided I wanted to see them in *order*--none of this 4,5,6,1,2,3 stuff...

I got dragged to Episode I the week it opened by the cadets we sponsored. I had been up in Denver all day at an Avalanche game & had had a sleepover the night before, so I was tired, but I was forced to stay awake & watch it--Threatened with bodily harm if I fell asleep...So I picked up the Jar Jar Binx stuff just to annoy the guy I went with! heheh.

Then my ex made me watch the 1st one of the originals--He got tired of me "talking back" to R2D2 and refused to let me watch any more of them.

I saw Episode II in the theater when it came out too...I'm growing to like them more than before, but I still have to see them in order.

So, sorry, I'm not *quite* a huge star wars fan, but my current "other half" is, so I have to keep up with the information for him...

Oh and as far as where I was when you were single...Probably in a relationship myself! heh

And no I haven't seen firefly...

There's a picture. The top actor is going to replace the scenes of the bottom actor. I think there's going to alot more little things like this.
that's unfortuntate. i think the one on the bottom looks alot cooler myself.

I'm pretty sure that the bottom one's actually the correct one, Ian McDiarmid.

Okay, so you're not quite perfect, eh? I like Episodes 1 & 2 well enough but I didn't think they were anywhere near the level of "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back." Hopefully, you'll be forgiving of the special effects when you get around to watching them. They suffer a little bit by today's standards but are stronger in their storylines, in my opinion. Plus there was no Jar-Jar and C-3PO wasn't nearly as annoying as he was in Episode 2.

Understandable. FOX screwed over one of the best shows to come along in quite some time by failing to properly advertise it, airing it out of order, and giving it one of the worst timeslots. If you ever want something new and wonderful to watch, I'd highly recommend renting it. It's popularity has grown so much after it was cancelled (only about a year ago) that Universal is about to start production on the movie.

I have never actually called them for customer service (email the only two times I've needed it) so I'm sad to say I missed out on your customer service seduction games. I'm not expecting too much out of any of them; I'm just an "order" person--I hate seeing things out of order/reading things out of order/etc. Like, this past weekend someone made me watch Bad Boys 2, and I was preturbed about it because I didn't see the first one!

I'll have to check it out, we have netflix memberships, so I'll have them sent to us; I don't think the other half will mind too terribly.

It's not based out of Denver, it's based out of California, they used to have their customer service call centers out of New York & Albuquerque. I worked at the call center in Abq. We had lots of fun there. heh...When I quit, they company that we worked for didn't last too much longer (they outsourced their c.s.) and I like to take credit for their downfalls; when I left, the callcenter manager himself came & begged me not to go..He knew that I was *always* there & that I not only did my jobs, but those of everyone around me...There was a point where I would be on a call, be training a new person on my phone, as well as answering 2 questions other people had, and processing/databasing all the RMAs/Return lables...And still being able to listen to & talk to the customer on my line. Ahh how they loved me. Heh.

We would play the seduction games only during the day, because we already had enough crazies that called us. We had a few bomb threats, several people that would keep calling in until a female answered the phone, then try & get us to read to them the titles of all of our "porno flicks" because they "didn't have a computer to look it up themselves." On the graveyard shift there was also a nice old guy that would call every Tuesday night and talk to us about the new releases & everything else...we got to the point where we started putting his calls through to one of the supervisors to chat with, since the supes were never really on the phone much anyway. Ahhh the good ol' buy.com days...I also still blame them for my inability to get a good nights rest anymore...

Geez, I hadn't really thought about the crap customer service folks have to put up with. I've always said that everyone should wait tables or work retail at least once in their lives so they would be a bit nicer to those people; I'll have to add customer service to that list.

Sorry I assumed Buy.com was based in Denver. The info under your avatar said you're located in Denver and you're a Broncos fan so I failed to think outside the box. Hmm...she might have lived elsewhere? Duh.

If you do get around to watching Firefly, please post what you thought of it. So far I'm batting 1.000 with people I've recommended it to liking it. And probably 90% of those have become fanatics.

I have a saying I use at work all the time, "Never trust anyone who was born after the release of Star Wars."

It was a different world then.
