  • iPod and iTunes users...HELP!!

I recently bought an iPod and downloaded the iTunes software that came with it. When I try to open the iTunes Music Store, an error message pops up that says "Could not complete the Music Store request. The store may be busy. Check your Internet connection or try again later."
Well, I've tried several times and it still will not open. What is the problem? Since it says "check your Internet connection", could it be because I'm still on freakin' dial-up?!
    Any help will be appreciated.

I just opened itunes and the store works fine for me.

You say you downloaded the itunes that came with your ipod? Go to the official website and download that one. It should be the latest and greatest.

Other then that I'm not sure what could be wrong.
You've got to know when to sack em...

OK. I figured out if I type in something in the search bar, whatever I'm searching for comes up fine, but the "home" page doesn't want to work. So I can still search for what I want but it can't find the main page front. I'm downloading the newest update now (though very slowly ) so I'm hoping that helps and I can download videos now. Thanks for your help Nas.

Maybe your firewall is blocking the access to the main homepage.

            Get broadband!

In all seriousness, if you're going to use dialup, you might as well buy CD's and just rip them on iTunes instead of trying to buy stuff off the online store. It's about the same price if you get your CD's at Best Buy, you get the liner notes, you don't have to use a CD-R to rip the music onto if you want to give it to someone else, and best of all you don't have to worry about the files being in that stupid .mp4 compressed format.
            HEAR ME ROAR!

Yes if you've bought an Ipod video and you have dial up-

              YOU'VE WASTED YOUR MONEY!

It takes me 4 hours to download a 1.7 gig movie and for dialup I can't even imagine how long that would take

I bet that with dialup, downloading 1 song would take 5-10 minutes.

Either get dialup or do what WhoDey says.

Thanks for the suggestion. As long as I can search for what I'm wanting I think I'll be ok. I was able to download a podcast (Shanahan press conference on Thursday ) and it worked well. I can't download videos until the update is done, but that will only take 6 more hours. Stupid #$*#&@ dial-up!

I wish I COULD get broadband, but I live back in the sticks and for some freakin' reason unknown to me people down my way can't get it. I've heard all that has to be done to get broadband for here is for someone from Verizon to go to a power pole somewhere and flip a damn switch. THAT'S IT!! If I knew where to go I would do it myself.

And for songs, try 30-45 minutes. Some more than that. I hate dial-up with a passion, but it is better than having nothing.
