It's hard for me to pick one- Probably Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, George Carlin or Dave Chapelle-- Mitch Hedberg would be up there too if he wouldn't have died prematurely.

        Richard Pryor. Hands down.

You young kids probably never heard his standup. Most comedians say "he changed the game" so to speak. He was the first comedian to walk up and down the stage as he talked. He cursed a ton, but the way he did it made it a part of his bits. There was no one as funny before and since.

Check out Live In Concert and you'll see a master at work, or as John Madden would say, "The Brett Favre of comedians!"

Man it's so hard to pick just one, I voted for George Carlin, but also like Richard Pryor
and Jerry Seinfeld and Steve Martin and Steven Wright. and Paula Poundstone and others I can't think of right now.

                      Carlin hands down.

I wasn't thrilled with the last standup performance I saw by him, but he's been brilliant for YEARS and deserves a pass every now and then.

I was at one of his shows (1998) and saw another great one, Steven Wright, a few months later.

I would go with Dane Cook, with Lewis Black right after.
