Well, because I've legitimately attempted to read the first book and since it did not interest me, I saw no reason to read the rest. And I work at a movie theater, where, thankfully I don't have to pay for most of the movies out today. So you'd probably think during my time there (especially since they always show in IMAX) I would catch glimpses of movies yes? Yes.
Another good way to judge whether I want to see it is by viewing the trailers. Since I'm pretty sure I know I have great taste in film, I can tell that the Harry Potter franchise is a waste of my time. Just like Alexander was. And High Tension. etc.
I'm simply agreeing with the person that said they hope they all die so that we don't have to put up with the movies and the books or the enormous over-vamped hype they generate for no reason.

You can refer to what I've said above. Of course I'm not ignorent. I have a wonderful knowledge of film and movies...because, again, I work at a theater and movies are my life... So, I'd say I would have a pretty fair judge of the quality of a movie that comes through week by week.
Like I said, you don't have to watch a movie to know it's going to be a waste of time, horrible, or even a great piece of work.
I haven't seen 300 yet and I know it's going to be brilliant. I didn't have to see High Tension to be able to tell you it would be horrible..and I was right when I got drug to see it by others.
So no...I am not ignorant. Harry Potter (and his movies) is just not that interesting. And I can't wait until the whole franchise is over and done with so we don't have to worry about it.
