The fact that John Mayer (sp) go nominated shows you what "rock" music has become - I dont think he fits the rock genre what so ever

I think when I hear country music artists on soft rock channels, and rock artists on country music channels, the line has definately been crossed

Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood on rock channels and Bon Jovi on Country music channels explains the unexplained crossover.

I think music in general is in a crisis. Record Co's seem more interested in quick hit's over the long term success of a band. How many bands got their start since 2000 that are still going really strong, selling out stadiums and what not? I can't think of any. Plus, I'm only 28, and I already hate all the new rock coming out. Now I know why my uncle still wears his Metallica shirt, you stop liking your brand of rock at around age 20!

atleast slayer won best metal performance. They deserve to be recognized for what they've done in metal.


in the past 7 years the only REAL metal bands (as in non-commerical, sell-out stuff) have been motorhead and black sabbath.
