If by no luck you mean winning 3 Oscars then you'd be right.

But I'd say winning 3 Oscars isn't bad. There are tons of good movies that win less than that...

And I'd say winning one less than the one that took home the most (The Departed with 4) isn't half bad.

However, 4 is kind of low for the movie that usually takes home the most. But it was only nominated for 5.

That said, some really good people won.

    Martin Scorsese (finally)

Forest Whitaker (loved him since Good Morning Vietnam)

Helen Mirren (been doing great stuff for years in England)

    Jennifer Hudson (American Idol? Haha)

I had never heard of any of the movies except the Al Gore documentary thing.

It is mainly the ritsy ****y movies that get nominated. There were a couple of war type movies nominated I hadn't heard of either.

    Oh Well.
Well, I haven't seen the movie. So, I can't say if it deserved an Oscar for anything. But, from the previews it looked like it had some good graphics effects in it. So, I could have seen it winning with Cinematography and Sound Mixing. But for Movie of the Year and Producers the competition would have been too great. I bought the Departed and watched it and I must say that I REALLY liked it. So, I'm glad that it won.

Um... Yeah, I watch it *gulp*

I like to watch the entertainment angle of things along with who needs arrested by the fashion police or who may make an arse out of themselves.

They had a couple of neat things they did last night. Before the presentation of sound mixing award, they had what they called the "sound affect orchestra" that was made up of about 60 people or so. They would show clips from movies in the background while the group made the sound affects with their mouths. It was amazing hear them do a shower, waterfalls, jets, cars screetching and on and on.

Another thing they did was they had this big backdrop and would shine a light from behind and all we could see were the shadows of about 10 people. This group would enter into the light and make pictures with their bodies. That was really cool. They did this almost before every commercial.

That's like Hollywood pleasuring only itself, and then claiming it is good in bed because it always makes it's partner satisfied.
